2014 CLA-Class Unveiled
Wasn't sure where to post this since there was no CLA-Class category but thought it would be of interest in the C-Class section.

Is it longer than the C class? The CLS sells poorly (in the US at least), because (in my opinion) there is no CLS350 and the V8 only offering makes the car too expensive to compete with the A7. But I guess MB had decided instead to go with an entirely new smaller model to fill that void.

Will have to reserve my final judgement until I see one live, but so far definitely not impressed.
And that screen... I guess that's the new MB signature feature.

Apparently. According to Car and Driver, the CLA is a little over 182 inches. According to the MB website, the C-class is close to 181. I imagine the C-class will still be considerably roomier, though, b/c of the longer wheelbase and more upright proportions.
And, no, I've not read anywhere that the 6-cylinder will be offered (to "protect" the C-class and likely for cost/fuel economy reasons)
I think the CLA looks fine (at least the non-sport version). I thought the Passat CC looked TERRIBLE in photos; it looks better in-person, although still a little awkward. I imagine the CLA will look much the same.
It'll be interesting to see what the next C-class will be like, since I imagine MB will have to move it upmarket and make it a little bigger to further differentiate it from the CLA. I'd like that, since I wouldn't mind a car that's in btw the current E-class (which is a little too big) and the current C-class (a little too small).

I like it. In the right colour combo & packaging that could be very nice. DCT, stop start or maybe even hybrid would be magic. Great for fuel consumption concious markets.
Let's see what AMG do with it.

I like the body styling, but not sure about the inside.....looks cheap-ish, but then again, it is at a lower entry price.....still, I like the style

Just wait for the CLA45 AMG - 355-375 hp (not released yet) Twin Turbo V6 with AWD standard.
MSRP a tick under $50K
I would imagine with a tune you are looking at a car that would be in the mid 12s...

Have configurated the A250 Sport , with some options the price was about 60K Euro over here, so more than a C Class.
I think the A / CLA AMG will be overpriced here, think about 80K Euro
As starting price.
