CLA 45 AMG Arrived in Calgary, Canada!
This car is absolutely stunning in person! Photos do no justice! It drives and handles amazing! The Recaro upgraded seats and carbon fibre dash are worth every penny, highly recommended!

More photos...my dealer here in Calgary is sold out of the CLA 45 AMG until September 2014, only allowed to get 1 CLA 45 AMG per month due to back log from factory!!

Let me also say the high performance tires are absolutely useless in snow! I slide already in a cul-de-sac, definitely need a pair of good snow tires! Good thing I have a winter beater this year!

I'd recommend Bridgestone Blizzak LM-32 tires if you see a lot of snow. Go with as narrow a tire as possible. Make it a square setup.

Be very careful in cold temperatures with summer performance tires. That alone is dangerous.
Driving in snow on the roads with those is a death wish.

ONE QUESTION TO EVERYONE: I cannot get my iPhone with the iOS6 to sink up to the new Mercedes Apps system, advice anyone?? I have been putting off upgrading to iOS7

I must ask, because I have heard that the Performance Suspension is really harsh, what your opinion is on it? Is it as harsh as some are saying it is?
AMG reps are saying not to order it unless you plan on tracking the car.
Any insight would be appreciated, thanks!

Thanks Dan! I have not had much of a chance to drive it as it is pretty snow covered up here and the car is in my garage. It does ride hard, but honestly, I previously owned a VW GTI and it doesn't feel anything much more out of the ordinary. The steering definitely feels very responsive, I would get it!

I have been driving the CLA 45 in traffic for break in period and a few comments:
(1) Break in instructions are MAX 4500 RPM and less than 85 mph for the first 1000 miles
(2) Car actually feels faster than C63 AMG!!! I recently drove a C63 507 at the AMG Performance Event that came to Calgary ~3 weeks ago. C63 507 was impressive but the CLA 45 is FAST! I have not had a chance to push the car to its limits but the car has effortless power and Torque even in comfort mode…so impressive! CLA 45 feels faster than C63 given the turbos that compensate for altitude horsepower loss here in town which is 3000 ft above sea level
(3) AMG Performance Exhaust - amazing Growl! Friends comments have been 'This doesn't sound like a 4 cylinder at all!!' Only comment is that exhaust is louder than expected, even under subtle stop and go traffic. Car has a great subtle rumble at stop lights
(4) AMG Performance Suspension - Car handles on rails! So impressed with the handling, this is a must!
(5) Styling! This car is a head turner EVERY where. Like I said before, photos DO NO JUSTICE. Comments have been it looks sexy and different than a lot of vehicles on the market today!

jonnyrt-I stopped by the dealership yesterday and they had a preproduction CLA45 that had been shipped in for a M-B dealer golf outing but was going back to Mercedes. Hank at the dealership said the car wouldn't be available for awhile.

Hey Jonny! Did you order from Lone Star? I had a deposit for one of these since June 2013 and they failed to get me my car because you couldnt order with the Recaro seats or AMG drivers package. I was really mad at them.... How did you get that car?!

Hey johnnyrt, early in your thread you mentioned you were able to get apps working. I've tried with a BB and Samsung Galaxy S4. Found some information online that stated Apps uses dun blue tooth protocol which is an older technology. Downloaded an app which was supposed to act as a translator between bluetooth and apps. I was able to get it to initiate integration but couldn't get it to stay connected. Did your iPhone connect pretty seamlessly or did you have to play with settings to get it to work?
