A250 cold start engine noise

A250 cold start engine noise,

when start the car under temperature around -5 to 2 C.( 35F) my engine has some noise, but if i start my car around 15C (58 F) the noise is much less noticeable, looks like the noise is relates with outside temperature.

and A250 owner or A220 owner has this noise?

That's fairly loud. I've started my car in as low as 23 F and it's always been pretty quiet.

Its normal noise for such engines, more complicated than others more parts to get it better/fuel economy etc than other older cars

my 2.5L engine is just OK, better than those TSI, but i saw a little oil leak from gasket, ( i was pushing very hard last summer and didn't change oil for 10k, ) may bad.... those TSI engine has more problem,,,,, even the new one, so my next car will be toyota.

the A class i have ( wife's car ), i need to taking more care on it.

Toyotas engines are not complicated, not many electronics, that they do not have issues with turbos and other stuff.

My previous car, 2013 C250, had a high pressure fuel pump malfunction and the dealership charged me $1500 for parts and labor.

From what I heard, it is bad to let your gas go too low often. This could lead to the fuel pump malfunction.

May want to check the camshaft advancers for anyone referencing this thread. They cause what you have described and can be heard making a loud noise when slowing turning the engine over by hand. It sounds like there is a return spring that fails

if it's camshaft, it will give a check engine light, in this case, i think the high pressure fuel injector is the one give that sound. so far car drives normal

Any updates on the tensioner fix ?

Hi ( lululu ), do you have any updates on the cam chain tensioner fix please? Any technical bulletin reference or part description perhaps? I'm trying to sort this problem with my Mercedes dealership and any help is appreciated. Thanks for the help 👍
