Pricing, Incentives, Deals
MSRP is $49,135 for her build including destination. $48,140 before destination. Dealer says they can change an existing order.
Being a sedan in a market where sedans are dying, and being so heavily optioned, I'd like to get this car for at least 10%-12% off. I would need the deal to be something like invoice minus rebates. I know they have holdback, volume bonuses, won't need to pay floorplan, etc. - not my first rodeo.
My research indicates that invoice for a Mercedes is either 93 or 94% of the price before destination. Can't seem to locate the invoice price on Edmunds's True Market Value (TMV) tool even though Edmunds says it should still be there...
Assuming invoice is 94%, that gives me an invoice price of $45,251.60. Add $995 back in for destination and it's $46,246.60. Assume rebates of like $2,000 at time of delivery, and I'm at $44,246.60, which is right at 10% off.
How realistic is this? Invoice minus rebates should be no problem with the market cratering, and I'd expect rebates to get better by the time it shows up.
What have rebates been over the past few months? I'm expecting similar or better over the next few months. Summer event would likely be going on when the car arrives. I also have fleet, but at least right now, there are no A class fleet incentives and they wouldn't stack with a seasonal event anyway, which I'm guessing would be larger than the fleet discount anyway.
Trying to order a car with pricing pending rebates at time of delivery is tricky, but if I know historically what they've been I can have a good enough idea of what I can expect to go ahead and order.

You want answer for what rabates was over past few months? Whoever gather such data i belive is not on forums and which is most important YOU ARE ASKINGS USERS for deals...ask as many as You can Dealerships for pricing NOT US
2) You suggested something utterly non-sensical. Yea ok, "Hey Mercedes, can you just go ahead and special make me a one-off, non-north American ugly hatchback model that isn't sold, supported, or certified with either the EPA or NHSTA for emissions, fuel economy, or crash testing, and also can you just sell it to me direct, circumventing both the entire government, and the entire dealership lobby? Do you even think before you post?
3) I reported both of your asinine, useless posts, so hopefully we won't be seeing you in this thread anymore.
If you have nothing of ANY value to add, stay out.

I got invoice pricing + about an extra $1000 off being USAA member and an extra $500 because they strung me along a bit. That said, this all varies based on your region/state. Where are you located at?
That said, I would have to agree with Vampire (even though I don't agree with some of our other thoughts). Please be careful with your A220 that you get built and ensure that it's perfect before you drive it off the lot. I mean check every door panel for noises and so on. I just got called back from Mercedes and they agreed to repurchase my car as it was riddled with issues. I'm only saying this based on my personal experience and you can take it as you will. I loved the looks of my car, the tech in it and all that good stuff, but when my sunroof exploded and (luckily) my sunshade caught the glass. I could have lost my kids in the back seat or severely injure them. These newer models are not the quality as they used to be/should be. Not saying you're not going to get a problem-free car. Just don't do what I did and go into an MB dealership and believe that it's much more refined than a car and not have common problems if I would have spent an hour poking around. That's all
.Hope you get a good deal on yours, mine was pretty decent. But it's not as good as the 2019 Laramie I got for 22% off of MSRP before taxes!!!! $59K for $44K OTD)

The sweet ambient lighting is now standard for 2021 instead of being an option we were going to have to pick. Also she declined the heated steering wheel because for whatever reason they never let you get the nicer AMG wheel heated, so she's getting the better looking wheel and saving $250 - attagirl. 2021 changes are minimal, a little bit more standard equipment, and just the general slight shuffling around of options and packages.
We actually don't have 2021 pricing yet, but her 2020 build came out to $49,135 w/destination. As for the deal, invoice is about 6% off MSRP. In two quick emails I was able to negotiate them down to 8% off, minus any rebates/incentives when the car comes in. I thought this was pretty good for such a quick negotiation, considering it is both a special ordered car and is a 2021. I would've been happy with that deal on a 2020. Got that in writing, and the sales guy and sales manager are super cool and really easy to work with. Ordered the car and were in and out in about 45 minutes. Car should be here sometime in July, sans any plant shutdowns due to Corona.
