A220 coming to an end in the US.

The A220 coming to an end in the US after the 2022 model year. Thought MB could have done a better job of marketing and supporting this vehicle from its inception. Terrific sporty sedan that could have attracted a younger demographic with its terrific technology and sporty design. The could have been a conquest killer for the MB brand but no special incentives for leasing or financing from the very inception of its release.
Your thoughts?

There's already another thread on this same issue in this forum section that I would suggest merging this with. I totally agree with all of your points about the A class and that MB is missing a golden opportunity. That was the original plan but it looks like it was never fully carried out. The GLA is outselling the A class sedan by 2 to 1. Sales of the CLA are about the same as the A class sedan. The GLA is outselling both of them combined.

To me it is disappointing that MB didn't sell the A-class hatchback in the US. I always wanted a small MB hatchback to haul my bike without a bike rack and I hate the way GLA(or SUV)drives. A hatchback is more utilitarian than the A-class sedan. Don't care what MB excuse is but st****d MBUSA.

It was actually spotted testing last year with manufacturer plates, I guess with the news that the A-Class is being discontinued in the USA, the odds aren't good:

They are too late. As much as I hate an SUV, I already gotten a Jaguar I-Pace so I can haul my bike, which drives like a car fortunately. MB is late for the EQC too. I was hoping to get that instead of the I-Pace because I love the after sale service of my MB dealership(RBM of Atlanta).

Despite this, in a way I want Mercedes to discontinue them so they can go back upmarket and able to focus on higher quality products instead of flooding the market with every model in every tier possible.
