Given I know little about sportbikes outside of my love for MV Agustas, but from what everyone tells me CBR600's are by far the easiest/best bikes to learn to ride on. Forgiving, lightweight, easy to maintain, perfectly balanced, etc.

I guess I will quote myself:
"Great First Sportbike"
Not Great Beginner Bike but FIRST SPORTBIKE.
If anyone is serious about getting a great sportbike at a great price please email me and I'll shot you my number to call. I've been riding sportbikes for 11 years I can pretty much answer any serious questions you may have about this bike.

And just because someone you know bought one with no riding experience doesn't make it a good idea.

You're probably thinking of mid-90s CBR 600s

90+ HP with a 1/4 mile time in the low 11's at 120 is just slow.
Here is a quick history lesson. CBR stands for Counter Balaced Race (Motor) All CBR were built to be class leading racebikes for streetbike based racing series. The lastest CBR600RRs are influenced heavily by Honda's Moto GP Program using similar styling and suspension.
Now please do not take this thread If you would like to discuss the motor brakes or any other part of a motorcycle please hit me up on AIM at boostd2. My job gives me the unique chance to ride upwards of 20 different motorycles a month. I also own 4 including this one I am trying to sell.
