WTB: Valentine One or Passport 8500 X50

Title says it all.

I'm ready to pull the trigger if the price is right for either of these units.

hey now...if the POS is the number 1 rated radar, that makes the V1 a pricier POS ...i bought my blue X50 for $227-234 (dont really remember, but the price was wholesale)....compare that to $400 for a V1 which is rated 2nd to the X50 ...honestly i like the arrows but if it cant detect as well whats the point...and if you detect a cop band, the smart thing would be to slow down regardless of the direction

You are wrong...the Valentine One is still #1 according to the latest independent unbiased radar detector test and it beats the X50 all day long. Not to mention, the X50 doesn't have a rear radar antenna so it loses to the V1 by over 2 miles in rear Ka band detection.

They're both good radars and i wouldn't be upset having one of them. I've had the Passprt 8500 for 3 years and it works fine. Don't know anyone having a V1, it's pretty exclusive. I know 4 other individuals that has a Passport 8500 and no complaints. Keep in mind that some websites or reviews will be bias. Enjoy your new radar.

^ look at all the reviews by reputable sources

and its funny how VALETINE 1 uses almost 5 year old data (when there was NO X50) to show its #1

I was drunk last night and ended up buying a Passport 8500 X50 on eBay for 179.00. But I'll still buy a valentine if anyone's selling. The wife has a lead foot and she drives a V8.
