FS: K40 Calibre detector and defuser
Here's the package:
1 K40 Front Detector and license frame (Model DL-P)
1 K40 Front Defuser (Model Defuser EX)
1 K40 Rear Detector and license frame (NIB)
Front units were used in my LS430 for about 6 months and are in excellent condition. Rear was never installed, but install via Bluetooth is a breeze (front and rear). Includes all packaging and instructions.
Here's the statement from www.k40.com website:
CALIBRE detects all FCC allocated police frequencies including X, K and Ka Superwide. Also, VG-2 Stealth Guard™ passively and actively conceals your system from a police VG-2 Gun (radar detector detector).
With the optional Laser Defuser® EX or EX2 you’ll deactivate police laser capability by emitting a powerful infrared signal back to the gun at a pulse rate the gun can’t understand. It actually deactivates the ability of the laser gun to measure speed, while you receive audio & visual warnings that give you the precious time you need to react and reduce your speed.
This package retails for about $1,600 and routinely sells for about $1,200 online.
I'll let it go for $700 via Paypal (includes PP fee and FedEx 2 Day Ground, CONUS only). This is a SCHWEET unit and you won't be disappointed!

Ok I Just bought me the EX front diffuser by K40, but I'm worried that these claims online state they are ****?
2 of my friends have had em and LOVED them, am i Just reading the wrong stuff or what? I Already bought it, so no going back, just making sure I didn't get my head all clouded up by BS online.

Make sure you get it professionally installed by an authorized K40 shop.

Correct. You'll need to "brains" (which includes the detector itself). Actually, now that I think about it, the defuser would probably (technically) "work" since it can be hard wired to the battery.
Downside, you'll never know if it's on or off - and it would never "report" that it's in use via audio from the brain.
Get the entire unit.
Bluetooth is great. And yes, it saved my butt many times in my Lexus.
PS: Your friends have 'em and love 'em. Many hear speak in favor of them. What's the problem? I can tell you this, whatever you read is only propoganda (be it good or bad). The bottom line is that all the top end radar detectors are VERY close in real world scenarios.....(imho)

Matt i got the EX and the stand alone KIT, LED Light and Sound thingy lol.
Everyone, thanks, I didn't realize until further reading that it WAS propaganda as OBX said, i read that thread with RaDaRKID and without reading ALL THE WAY THROUGH thought he was right......... then i read all the way through lol.
I'll be installing it soon as the car is back from the shop.
