Don't know if a repost but good info they keep updating
The 63 should be a real beast, just hope they don't make it ride too stiff even when in C-mode, and add some extra leather/cover some of the hard plastic that's found on the 53

I think that’s just the nature of the handling and suspension physics. To create a “super comfort mode” on an AMG model, the steering setup and suspension would have to be drastically modified with a big compromise on performance. The very nature of AMG models is that they sacrifice less on performance than they do comfort. It’s really the great trade-off in the car world: great handling and performance vs. ride comfort. Some cars like the S 63e-performance come very close to delivering both in spades, but asking for tons of pillow-style ride comfort in a performance-heightened AMG model is not reasonable.

^ Not looking for pillow soft, just a bit more compliant than Comfort which should easily be attainable via active damping etc …I’d call it Comfort +
Have you driven the new C8 ERay,? Drives like a dream in the softest setting (esp for an UHP Corvette)
With today’s suspension tech almost anything is possible in delivering comfort and handling by the flick of a switch.

Speaking for myself don't really care if it ends up with too stiff a ride for comfort or too much of plastic interior bits, all is acceptable if it's fitted with the V8 powertrain

Porsche is the standard for ride comfort combined with world class handling.
Panamera trim from base to Turbo S e-Hybrid use the same suspension and steering geometry, and can be optioned with the same air suspension and active roll control. Differences are in shock (PASM) and air spring tuning.
Porsche delivers a smooth comfortable highway cruiser and 4-door 911 in the same package.
BMW M and MB AMG don't get it.

No pops, no bangs but a little roar. But if it is a V8, the exhaust sounds as muffled as the 53.

That said the V8 growl is more of a mature sound and meant to be that way. I think the GT 63 sounds pretty good as long as it is North America and if the CLE 63 gets a V8 then it would still sound pretty nice... in North America. As long as there is no OPF.

I've been researching the 53 exhaust system and the assistant service manager at the dealership printed out picture of the exhaust system Parts List from the service manual. There are 2 unidentified "cans" upstream of the mufflers that require more inspection. If it doesn't void my warranty or emissions they're going to be replaced with a straight pipe, eventually.

But that gives me an idea. I'm going rig something up so that I can record my current CLE53 exhaust sound to compare with the modified exhaust to come.

Agree, the black test mule BB.AB.1714 @ 0:45-0:48 is unmistakably a V8 growl and the sound is coming from the car facing head on not from the rear...
It also projected an enticing sound towards the end of the vid from about 1:04 a bit like a NASCAR flying by off throttle.
Not so convincing though was the sound from the red test mule and the other black prototype, looked like 3 different mules all up in that vid.
