Black Screens and No Touch Response Service Campaigns
Greetings,
I’m looking for the MB Service Campaign number and description for the MBUX software update to fix both screens being black, and the center screen failing to accept touch input. My CLE 53 Cabriolet CLE53A4 A236 is in the shop now for troubleshooting. The service advisor did not find any active campaigns for my VIN or February 26, 2025 build date.
I’m hoping someone who has had the work received notification of the addressed campaign.

I experienced one instance of the screen not responding to touch. Shutting the car off and restarting (rebooting the system) cleared whatever was going wrong and the problem has not returned.

I had the same experience that similarly resolved. It was followed several days later by the black screens and rebooting with audio system static pops. At one point the center screen was displaying gray static, much like an old tube TV set. It cleared after 24 hours.
What I could really use is another Service Campaign number for MY 2025 vehicles for build dates other than my own.

I’ll update again if I have another similar failure.3994 SOFTWARE FAULT CONNECT SDS, CONNECT BATTERY CHARGER, PERFORM QUICK TEST AND FOUND STORED FAULT CODES B145697 FOR THE DATA LINE BETWEEN HEAD UNIT AND DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEM HAS A MALFUNCTION, B16A09A THE AUDIO TUNER HAS A MALFUNCTION, B127700 FOR THE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM VARIANT IS UNKNOWN. PERFORM GUIDED TESTS, TEST RESULT STATES TO PERFORM SOFTWARE UPDATE AND SCN CODING. PERFORM SOFTWARE UPDATE TO THE MBUX, SOUND SYSTEM, ZAN DISPLAY, A40/18 DRIVERS DISPLAY. I have had a few software glitches that were resolved by restarting the car and this rebooting the system. A couple issues were resolved with a software update. One update was OTA, the other was done by the dealer. Knowing about the issues I’ve had wouldn’t deter me from buying the CLE53.
I’m with you. I’ll tolerate the software issues for the enjoyment from the car. Yesterday was a 12 hour day up and down the mountains of West Virginia. The car was incredible to drive in Sport+ and Race modes with the transmission in manual. It was a hoot! We’ve had several of these 8+ hour days just driving backroads. It’s incredibly comfortable to use as a touring machine.

Update. It returned today. The touch screen was unresponsive. The map was active and the radio playing on the last station but I wasn’t able to change anything by touch. The problem was again resolved by a restart.

I’ve had updates to 4 radar units and MBUX is current to 3.2.2. Interestingly, my driver assistance features have failed a couple times then returned after a restart/reboot.There is a June 27th notice for another OTA update coming for the drive assistance system. Only 2024 model year is listed as affected. I haven’t seen that yet.

Hopefully the update will be available soon. I haven’t heard of anyone receiving the update yet.
