In about 45 days, I will visit local MB for my first scheduled Service A on my 53. The maintenance manual is not clear on A vs. B.
Question: does anyone have a detailed list / experience of what that Service A consists of?
I’m assuming being here in Ca. that pricing may vary according to dealers and state you live in. I would hope however that the service is straight forward and content mostly the same.
I’m suspicious of service-bay personal and I always ask for details. I pick and choose as I do with my other car and stay withing the warranty requirements.
Being that this is an AMG, I’m certain that they may want to add items $$$ that may not be necessary nor required.
I would appreciate any information or suggestions you may have.

I agree that if there are parts, etc. that need to be replaced the warranty will cover it.
But the service A is what I'm interested in, what the details are and the cost of it.
The service information booklet I have (attached) is not clear.

Either look in the owner's manual (I swear it lists what they do in there) or just Google search it and you'll find the list of service items in A and B. (I've done it and you can too!)
What I'm really interested in seeing is if they upcharge us for the "AMG" badging. My dealer shows A service as a $399.00 charge and the B service as $799.00, but I don't trust the service sales guys as far as I can throw them. My understanding is the A service is basically and Oil Change and check of a bunch of fluids. B is a bit more in-depth, but not too much more.

You nailed my concerns, other than the typical oil change, maybe a T/R and fluid/brake pad/battery/etc. checks, an AMG enhanced engine (as MB calls it) is just a higher performance six.
I will visit the dealer before the actual service and see what they have to say, cost etc. Like you, I have no confidence or trust in the service bay advisors.

for what it is worth i have GLE AMG 53 and I just had the B service performed. It was $1,200. Over priced no doubt, however, I trust the service department. I think Servie A is $750. Service is once a year. it is when you hit 50k or 60k miles that you hit really expensive maintenance, ie. transmission service, new spark plugs, etc. I love my car and will keep it fully maintained. Given warranty, i will use the dealership for at least the first 4 years.
dudley, curiosity, are those quotes for a 4, 6 or 8 cyclinder vehicle? If that is for a 6 or 8, that is much cheaper than Sarasota MB. Service B at Sarasota MB includes all the checks plus oil and oil filter change, tire rotation and wheel alignment, wind shied wipers, air filter, fine dust filer and brake fluid service. I assume this is standard accross MB dealers.

I have no idea why my dealer would quote tire balancing. No need for that every year.

Yes you have the M256 but the M256 M version. Forgot the differences but the M256 M is different to the M256 in the CLE 450.
Scheduled A service with tire balance starts at 649.00 Plus tax.
w/o tire balance 549.00 plus tax
** due yearly or 10k miles what ever should occur 1st. You will receive a notification on cluster**
Scheduled B service with tire balance starts at 1049.00 Plus tax.
w/o tire balance 949.00 plus tax.
** due every 2 years or 20k miles what ever should occur 1st. Your will receive a notification on cluster**
Just received a quote for 4 year maintenance plan from salesperson from this site in Louisville.
He is asking $3240. Al la carte is $3000 from MB Naples. I'll pay as I go. Who knows, maybe there will be a coupon special that they have on service?

I was quoted a similar cost for 4-year Maintenace. I think paying as you go is the way.
Here in the central coast of Ca. I do not have the savings options (competition) of urban areas of L.A. to the south or the Bay area to the north.
Filling the 53 tank here (SLO CO.) can cost me about 55/71 cents more per gallon (all at Costco location) compared to Orange Co. south.

When we pick up my wife's 2026 CLE 53 coupe in about a week, I'll be telling the Finance guy we will not be paying no more than $1,200 for a two service A/B pre-paid maintenance plan if he spouts out an egregious figure. I have no problem going to an indy garage.
Same when we pick up my 2026 GLE 53 coupe in about a month....
