"A" Service

So I've had my CLE53 for almost a year now and it's due for it's "A" Service, which is really just an oil change, check the other fluids, brakes and tires. It has under 3,300 miles so there shouldn't be any issues... I live in Agoura Hills/Westlake Village and there are more than a handful of Mercedes dealerships close enough to take my car for service. I looked at the "Service Specials" on each of their websites. The closest dealership has an "A" Service special of $329.99 but the disclaimer says not for AMG. I called them, I waited on hold for a very long time, he came back and asked for my VIN (why that would matter I don't know), then he came back and said it was $514. I told him about the special and he said "They're sticklers about the AMG thing"... The things they do on the "A" Service are no different on an AMG car or Non-AMG car, it shouldn't make any difference. I called the Encino dealership, who had a $269 special on their website, with no AMG disclaimer, the guy put me on hold for 5 minutes, it then went to someones voicemail, I called back and told them that and the guy sent me to a voicemail, so F*^k that place. The dealership I bought the car at in Van Nuys has called me 3 times and left a voicemail, but they are the furthest of 5 dealerships so I haven't checked with them, yet. A friend of a friend who has the same car went to the Calabasas dealership, (which is very close) and because they have bought multiple cars from them, their "A" Service was $299, I'm going to check on that on Monday.

My car is a lease, and I know you have to do the services each year or every 10,000 miles as per the terms in the lease, and I have heard that I can take it to an independant shop and have it serviced, but how does Mercedes know that the service was done and can it do anything to the warranty or cause me any problems when the lease it over?

I put my CLE AMG into hibernation for the winter and will wake it up in the spring. I put 7,200 miles on it from May to October and will perform the A Service in the spring.

Please post your experience.

Good luck!

If it were my car I would put fresh fluids in, get the fuel tank as empty as possible and put it on a battery tender.....

I'm not sure but I wouldn't think so, and even if it did take more, it would probably be 1 quart, so maybe $10 more...

A dealer who can't provide a quote for an A-service likely doesn't know what it entails, much less how to perform the service. I've never leased a car -- does the contract require service by a dealer only?

Sorry for the typo. Should have been "So does the AMG take more oil than the non AMG version"?

My "A" servicein SLO

I had my A service done here locally in SLO, 7980 miles within a 12 month period.
They did all the normal inspections, fluids, etc.
The cost was $380.27 less my Vet discount coupon received of $200, therefore $180.27.
My console door (cupholder area, USB, etc.) is not opening/closing as it should, they will call me when parts are received.
2.5 hours wait with a free wash.
Cheers,
LTBM

So glad we didn't opt for the pre-paid maintenance 2 yr. plan when my wife took delivery of her new 2026 CLE 53 coupe in Sep....dealership wanted $2,475.

I won't be opting for pre-paid maintenance either when I sign the paperwork on my new 2026 GLE 53 coupe which supposedly arrives at the dealership tomorrow.

Thanks for posting your schedule A service!

I just went to the dealer, he pulled up a page on the screen that showed $340, I showed him the "service specials" on another dealers website that said $239 on it and he matched it. I'm happy with that.
Plus I showed him that the T in Turbo on the front fender emblem got broken off (probably at the car wash) and he said that he'd order me a new one, no charge. He said that within the first year (mine is just over that, but first service) they are leanient on broken emblems for warranty replacement.
