Renntech or Brabus springs on thier 430 (cabrio)? I'm going to try one more time to get this thing right, as I'll only have it a few more months. A 100 miles drive on some smooth country roads yestereday was the last straw. The car seems to pick up every undulation and imperfection in the road, has a slight right pull, and is generally unpleasant to drive. I still think it's oversprung. I've got the adjustable Konis (on medium) with H&R's, 18" Brabus wheels with Pilots, and I think they (the springs) are what I need to rule out. Really, all I want is some lowered ride height and something that's just slightly stiffer than stock. Thinking these two, plus maybe the OE Euro CLK 55 spring, might be the choice. Anyone using these? Chappy, I lost the email address for the guy that can help with the AMG springs, can you forward it to me? Thanks to all for any input/help.

This is where I ordered mine from...

Gert Carnewal is the owner. That's who I dealt with. Good luck

did you get the correct springs for the cabrio? I just bought HR springs for my cabrio, but turns out all the extra weight in the back caused it to sag. I fixed it by putting the #5 cusion spring pad in the rear and it rides very nice. I am using the stock shocks but my car only has 30k

Yes, that's an easy mistake to make....

as Tire Rack and several others did not have the correct number listed. And yes, I've changed to the Koni's, antother mistake, Should have used the Bilsteins. I'm going to change the springs first, as I'm pretty sure thats the nature of the problem. Just don't want to end up with something too close to what I have now.

The plot thickens...

now that I've decided the springs are the culprit, I can't find any.
The only thing that's readily available in the US is H&R, and I don't want to go down that road again. Brabus--no got. Renntech--no got. Eibach--Tire Rack no got. What's left? Lorinser (CEC), nah. US spec 55 srpings, not low enough. Chappy's guy at Carnewal I think can get the euro 55 springs, but I'm not too sure of the ride height. At this point, the rate is more of a concern than the height. Who else am I missing, anybody? What about the Kleeman ones? Didn't I read that that thier spring setups are quite good? Anybody tried the Vogtland stuff? I'm a bit afraid of that as for years it was considered a "discount" brand in Europe, not something you'd want to put on your Benz. Thoughts?

I have a Brabus suspension on my car, and I love it... the ride is comfortable... the drop comes standard at about 1.5", and is easily adjustable by changing the spring pads....

The Brabus kit is a little more than the typical H&R kit, and its worth the money if comfort is your primary concern.... The aesthetics of the lowered suspension is ideal, to me anyways...

Yeah, love to have em...but

they don't have any.
And they don't expect any more stock. As with most of these tuners, they only inventory what's current and hot at the moment. As the 208 is long gone, they don't plan on keeping any more stuff. They did generously offer to get it from Germany on special order. Said it would take about a week to US, which is fine. Also said it would be about $300 in freight ALONE, which is not fine. Can get it on their stock order, and that takes about 2 months. Pass. Next?
