new dyno results
Today Jon is a happy person. I had been waiting to post results of what I thought was a nice gain. My pre Powerchip numbers were Max HP=215.83 Max Torque=217.99. After I got my ECU back from Powerchip I can now burn rubber (when I really couldn't before) and it's seems much more snappy. So I went and dyno'ed today. My numbers now?? Max HP=234.1 and Max Torque=238.2. I'd say that's a nice difference. Remember, I do have the AMG intake and personally I think my ECU was messed up by the company that formerly "tuned" it - Speedtuning USA. I'm not going into that, but all I can say about Powerchip is I'm very satisfied. I think the numbers speak for themselves.
Here's a video file of my dyno.....nothing special though.
My dyno
Also, before you say it Josh....yes, I know you think I should just go with the stock software but I'm happy with it and Powerchip so that's good enough for me.

Powerchip told me that my ECU had been changed some but it wasn't right, so who knows what Oliver did.

I'm not gonna say anything negative, you got a very nice gain. You're one of the few people I've seen get good results. Now go wax some E36 M3's :0)
krayzie - stock HP is 275 at the crank. 215 is about right at the wheels, so jt is running 20 rear wheel horses over stock with is a very nice gain for the $$$.

I hate to bring up negative stuffs but my friend stock 2002 Clk 430 Dynoed showed more hp & tq. then your mods Clk 430. I was there when he did his dyno.

SoCalCLK has already said that the dyno was done with no airbox, hence the high numbers.

I was there !! His car was BONE stock.
"Here is my Dyno Chart for my 2002 CLK 430 bone stock. The only thing I had at the time was the BRABUS sport springs. Everything else, exhaust, rims, filter was bone stock.
Peak HP: 246
Peak TQ: 251
This was done at the Eurosport Dyno Day in Anaheim, CA in Oct. 2003."

He might be talking a difference dyno at a later day and got 251 hp without the air box (which is a gain of 5 rwhp from his orignal dyno). I was there and saw everything. Some of those were my pictures that i send it for him. Think about it, if that was true then why he keep saying that his car was stock. His quote.......

There were additives in the car, just Chevron 91 octane. They had the fan going directly into the engine bay. Other than the Brabus springs, the car was completely stock. I don't know what else to say...!

You guys won't make it in the engineering world...
... Two different dynos. two different operators, two different calibrations... The only way to accureately compare is both cars on the SAME dyno on the SAME day. Take out the variables, then what's left is the data you can use.

Aside from the two cars being on two different dynos, with possibly different air temps, and possibly different elevations, they're running two different sets of ECU software. Is it possible the Motronic 2.0 software (pre 2001) is a little less dyno friendly than the Motronic 2.8 software? Jaguar has admitted there is no way to turn their stability control off. It can go into different states, but OFF is not one of them. Ditto for the Mazda Rx-8. In both of those cases, the HP figures read low on a dyno. Of course it could be that the Motronic 2.8 software actually makes more power too, but . . . .ah . . . . . well . . . . possibly looking at the dyno numbers of some other 2001-2002 CLK430's would be more productive than my conjecture.
