Break installation
So I bought a set for Zimmermann's cross-drilled rotors for front and back and Porterfield pads. They about to arrive this week. Here is my question to you. I've never installed breals myself, I do want to do this this time. Is there anything I need to do/know. Any tricks or this is all stright forward. Can some one post DIY instructions, if any available.
Also, I got Breakline Wear message, are those breaklines, or breaks themselves?
Very straight forward, remove wheel and the calipers unbolt from the back.
A couple of bolts and they come off.
One thing is that you might need a C clamp to push back the cylinder when you install the new pads. If the cylinders have a slot on them, then use a large flat head screw driver and turn them clock wise.
If you have to use the C clamp, use the old pad to push the cylinder back. Uncap the brake reservoir before you clamp down, and remember to recap after you are done.
