Does anyone know if the rear differential oil have to be changed in certain miles? and how to flush that oil?
Or is it a lifetime thing? Thanks

I had mine changed at about 50K. I had the dealer do it when then did the Tranny. I've done it before, not to bad. Remove cover, drain, remove old seal, install new seal and replace cover. fill from top.

I checked with the local dealer they said that oil is not required to be changed ,unless if there is a leak or a noise coming from down there or some kind of problems in there. They said that oil in the differntial designed to be there for hundred thousand of miles , and it is very rare if they need to change that in any car , and changing that at 80K ls kinda of wasting of time and money ..

Many dealers will tell you to not change the transmission fluid, too...don't you read the postings on this site?

So, the logic from your dealer is to wait for a problem? C'mon man are you kidding me? By that logic you would wait until your tranny starts smoking to change the fluid. If I listened to the dealer regarding everthing that I've talked to them about, I'd be about $10K poorer right now because many times they DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT. I'm going to assume you are smarter than that Superstar.

You know, the guy who told me not to change it,is a friend i have known for years ,and he works for the dealer for a long time . Actually, the dealer changed my transimition oil and they could have changed the differential oil if i had asked them to with no problems .
so why my friend will lie? I have no sign of leaks and no sounds and anything like that . and changing that oil will cost $300
Now, i have to think about that twice beofre i change it!!
