Low Resale Values of CLK's??
What is going on?? I've noticed that the used M-B prices in general are really low right now and getting lower daily. The CLK's are really cheap on the used car market and I heard that at the auctions they almost can't give them away. I've noticed that really nice low mileage cars are going for $15-$18K. Thats a lot of car for the money.

i'm selling my car for $27k stock.... $32k with mods.... based on those numbers, yes, the car has depreciated quite a bit... but, not down to 15-18k, but, i guess that all depends on what year/model/mileage it has
I have 2 serious buyers on the table for the car...

If you go to a mercedes dealer they will NOT sell you a clk430 for 15-18k. I dont even think a 320 would go for that much at a dealer. If you're talkin about ebay then yeah you're right. Im looking to get a 55 soon and paying a visit to my little budddy kleemann.

2001 CLK 430
I finally sold my 2000 CLK320 (still have my 430!) I was asking 15K and the car had 110,000 miles on it and still running strong. The buyer tried to talk me down to 12K claiming that KBB.com says blue book was 12-13K. You know what I said, "well KBB doesn't sell cars, if they say the car is worth 12-13K have them sell you one." Then I told him if he thinks he gonna get a nice Benz for 12-13K he should start looking at C-Class mercedes, or maybe used Honda Civics I stood my ground mad at the fact that people are alway trying to price you down. A couple days later he came back and bought the car for 15K with 110,000 miles. So don't let stupid KBB devalue our cars, if there is a demand and no cars availavle for that low price, people will pay.
Oh and "PHADE" I have seen CLK 430's for way more than 20K with only 53 thousand miles, and that's stock!!! If you have 10K in mods, up that price, stand your ground buddy, someone will pay!

2000 CLK 430 Cabriolet

I paid $24K for a 2000 CLK430 Cabriolet w/68K miles. Black ext., dove gray int. (I had to have the dove interior. personal preference). Now, this did NOT come without problems. The dang top didn't work, AFTER WORKING while in the dealer's parking lot! I got 20 minutes away, stopped at a store and decided to try the top. It didn't work. (Email me for more info because the rest of it kind of got to be like a soap opera) Long story short, the top cost me $2K to get fixed. It turned out to be the trunk lock believe it or not! At $24K, I knew it wasn't perfect but she ran like a charm.
Anyway, I bought it off of eBay from an internet car dealer in Miami. I flew down to check it out, then flew back a couple of weeks later to get it. I then drove it to Orlando and hopped on the Auto Train to get it back to the area (DC area). Auto train was $454 by the way. $150 to fly down so $600 total. They wanted $650 to ship so I still saved $50 AND had it WITH me. No waiting on the shipping company (7-10 days).

Yeah resale value is horrible, I was selling my CLK430 recently and at first I was asking 26k and kept lowering it each week, I lowered the price all the way to $18k. I bought the car for nearly $27k with like 55k or 56k miles last year in January. Now it just got to 71k miles. I had a few interested buyers, but they said they would buy it only if I lowered the price $1k lower. ($17k). I told them that I would consider it, but the first thought in my head was screw you, you're not getting my car cheap.
The car is in great looking and working condition. It does however have a check engine light, but that's because my gas cap was broken and I already replaced it. All I need to do is reset the light.
Now I'm just not going to sell the car, its too much of a nice car to let go for cheap, I rather keep it myself . I'm happy I didn't sell it.

00 clk 320 and 3 hondas. Darn I am down to 4 cars.
I sold my 2000 320 for $ 22.000. The car had 36.750 miles and it was as mint as you could possibly find a 2000 model year. The buyer tried to get me to lower the price and I said no. I told him to find a lower mileage CLK in better condition for less. He called me the following morning and bought the car.

major failures? every clk has some issues...
-broken cat convertor
-broken cluster
-broken alternator regulator
-cylinder misfire
every other warranty repair beyond that was me being picky and wanted things perfect...
