Someone explain to me what happens to the car when he gets his check (should he go with that option)... does he still retain the rights to the car or does the insurance company technically "own" the car and they it just send it to a junk yard for strippin and the insurance company gets whatever that can in return?

I hope the cops get that ***** cause he was defintely drunk and he was driving a blk ford/chevy pickup-redneck lol
I call dibs on the shifter assembly...yay for tiptronic
at best, if you have aftermarket stuff, you can take that and put back the stock parts and thats about it... (ie., aftermarket ICE vs. stock radio, etc...) but you can't strip any part of the car
if you want to strip the car apart and sell parts, you can take the check from the insurance company and then ask them, how much to buy the vehicle back... the buy back amount will be much less then the totalled payout... ie., if they cut u a check for $20k, the buy back price for the car will prob be like $10-15k
One thing that I noticed about the CLK and Mercedes in general, is that the bumpers and other things are all plastic.
A month ago I went to Reno, Nevada on my 7 series, on the way back it started snowing/raining and I started spinning on the freeway, it was pretty bad. Good thing is that I didn't feel anything I hit, I only heard the sounds and that we were all alive. I banged the back bumper so much that there's no damage at all. This car is solid and saved our lives.

I just got it back earlier this week.
