suggestions on placement of amp

suggestions on placement of amp

hi there

just bought a audison srx4 amp and basically trying to figure out the best way to place the amp at the rear boot without taking up too much space....anyone could suggest the ideal placement? wat abt the kick panel at the front of the passenger door? thanks

btw is for the w208

I replied on the other forum so I guess I'll reply here as well. A good place for the amp is in the trunk mounted upside down on the rear deck.

Not if you screw it down. You could also put some dynamat between amp and deck if you like. Make sure it doesnt block the vents though.

"seriously speaking, the BEST place for an amp to LIVE would be the trunk, either the side panel of the trunk or the front wall of the trunk (aka behind the rear seats, but in the trunk). Better ventilation. I would stay away from nooks and crannies....can overheat the amp. and mounting it upside down, well, seen it done but theoretically wont the heat (travelling upwards) just hit the amp instead of dissipating?"

this comment was made by a forummer at another forum

there maybe so logic to it cause i lived in malaysia and is hot and humid most of the time

I dunno man. Thats how I had mine and never had any problems. Anywhere in the trunk will be fine but I think it looks cleaner if the amp cannot be seen. Just my 2 cents.
