A/C always blowing hot Air
Dear All,
I have a 1999 CLK 230k (automatic climate control). The problem is that no matter what position the blower is in (temp on min, fan on high or low and ECO button pushed) only hot air comes out. I have had the vehilce re-gassed, but teh problem persists.
Can any one advise me on this issue?
Thank you for your help.
Regards
Sanjiv

I have tried having the Eco button On and Off to no effect. I have checked the fuses for the Automatic Air Conditioning and Blower and them seem fine.

Could be O-ring leak if no freon

It's been said somewhere on this forum that the next step after topping up the freon is to clean/check the mono or duovalve. This is usually located by the computers on the passenger side under the hood. If they stick they won't shut off the flow of hot coolant to the heater thus the hot air.

I had this problem...
A few months ago I had this problem and it was the lack of freon in the veh...the mechanic said that it was bone dry..after he filled it up and ran a dye test(to check for leaks), it has been fine every since...good luck with the diagnosis....

CLK 430 Coupe
My CLK 430 was blowing only hot air and the "EC" ( economy mode) button light was on and would not turn off even when you pressed it.
So I took it in the Greenway Mercedes Here in Houston and they told me it was the compressor and it needed to be replaced ( around $2,000). It was all covered under warranty
Now it feels like it blows colder than it ever has

99 CLK 430 A/C Issue
My car will only blow cold on the first 4 fan settings. I thought it may be low on freon. I had the system evac'd and recharged. It still only blows cold on the first 4 fan settings.
If I turn it to max, the air gets warm in about 10-15 seconds. Once I do that and try to turn it back down it won't get cold again.
I called my local MB dealer, and also got some questions answered on this forum. From what I hear it's possible that it's the Evaporator Temp Sensor. I order it from http://maximumautoparts.com as they seem to beat everyone else's prices on everything.
Like to hear you input.
