Good people to do business with???

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lorin...ayphotohosting

Have any of you ever dealt with this ebayer??? One of the CLKs pictured on their other auctions (burgandy CLK) belongs to a MBWorld member--I'm almost certain that this burgandy CLK had the colorful LV interior....at any rate, I saw approx 3 negative comments (2 this month) and wondered if you guys had any dealings with the company/person in question....

Here's the pic of the burgandy car that I am referring to:

Thanks guys!!

If you buy one of these bumpers, let me know how it fits for you and how much it cost to get it put on and painted. I'd love to buy one for my car after I get through with my divorce!

they have terrible feedback so i wouldn't buy just for that reason.

i'm pretty sure the first link (silver car on grass) is a REAL lorinser dtm kit. the owner used to be on here.

the owner of the red one is currently on here and he also sells his kits online...it might be his auction under a new user id. if it IS the same guy, someone bought a kit from him and said it was crap haha.

I remember that car too. If he's willing to put a real CL hood and grill on his CLK then I'm sure he sprung for the real lorinser kit as well. Except for the wheels, I love that car. Saved pics of it on my other computer.

The silver car belonged to a MBWorld member from a few years back. He had an authentic Lorinser bumper, which is NOT made of fiberglass. The kit on ebay is IMO a replica which in that case may/may not fit well and to my best guess, not the same piece as that on the car ("Brand New"). I'd ask to see actual fitment pictures of his body pieces before bidding.

Thanks guys...I'll ask for pics of the fit...I'm definitely not going to bid until I feel comfortable...I have been on here long enough to know that there are some shady characters among us!

I'm so in love with the look of the silver CLK in the 1st pic...

Hey Ben, original Lorinser's aren't made of fiberglass? is that true for all the CLK Lorinser bodykits. Mine is made of fiberglass and I thought it was an original when I bought it.

In regards to the original post, I've always read on this forum that replica kits, like that one on ebay, don't always fit perfectly and may need a lot of bodyshop work. I hear that the price you pay for labor to make it fit is equal to just buying an original, perfect-fitting bumper like a Lorinser. But if the fit is good then you've got yourself a good deal, all you need is paint.

If you paid a couple grand for just a front bumper then either it's real or you REALLY got ripped off!

If you're going for a Lorinser, the easiest would be to get a real one. If you want Carlsson you pretty much have to go replica.

I remember most Lorinser kits being made in PUR, however I'm not sure how they are done now. I second what you have to say about replicas.

Update!!

Hey guys....Thanks for all of your help!! Let me just fill you guys in on this A$$hole over on Ebay!!! I took advice from you guys and asked for fitment pics and specs...the guy blew up and sent me a NASTY email stating that the part was an aftermarket part and if I wanted to be so picky as to ask for pics, etc. then I should pay the $2500 for a real one or just keep my factory bumper on!!! He said it much nastier...so to anyone who was even thinking of this---FORGET about it QUICK!!! I sent him a reply and told him that I believe the negative comments left by ebayers who have purchased things from him...The nerve of people!!! If I were near him, boy........ummmmm!!! *shakes head*

Report him to ebay for selling counterfeit material and for not informing people in his auction that he is doing so. Goodbye account.

Sounds like a good idea...

Another Update:
This is what he replied after my previous post...
Kits4all response:

"you can spend your money anywhere you please and if you have 2500 to throw away then thats on you it was a honest answer for your question i dont even know why you would ask someone about fitment on aftermarket piece but i apologize if i offended you if your interested in a bumper il be happy to sell you one if not i can respect your decision and wish you the best"

He is a Joke!!!

I think he has a problem comprehending the difference between "aftermarket" and "replica." Lorinser is an aftermarket company/product. His piece, which is a copy of Lorinser, is a replica.

If you want to have more fun, when you are done with eBay contact CEC in Los Angeles. They are the Lorinser distributor for the US.
