Please don't tell me you're serious. Just think about it. A part that costs $10.95 increasing fuel economy by 31% and horsepower by 35? Uh, no.

Don't listen to that JT guy.

I have one. As a matter of fact, 2 of them.....1 in each intake tube. They say a 35% increase in gas mileage, but with two of them, I'm getting 70%. HP increase? I'm not sure, but it feels like 70HP more!!! I spin my tires at every light with just a 1/4 throttle. My top speed is around 200MPH. But our cars only go 135 you ask? Not anymore....

LOL! I was gonna buy the Kleemann high boost kit until I picked one of these up. I'm confident I can take on Blackbenz's 55 in my 430 with my new found performance. And I'm loving the 40 MPG I get!

I'm going to get FOUR of them - 2 per tube. I'll see you at the drag strip!

I know this is a stupid question, but is there any way to increase gas mileage?

For maximum acceleration, use the "off a cliff" method.

work from home!! I do!
you can replace your air filters and that will help with a little more power and fuel efficiency..

Vortex generators do absolutely nothing. Neither do magnets on fuel lines. If either did, car manufacturers would have used them long ago.

Before making suggestions, what kind of mileage are you currently seeing? And under what conditions? Steady speed? Stop and go? Any snow involved? How many miles are on the car? CLK430's can do 30+MPG highway. CLK320's should be able to do noticeably better.

actually that's the secret in the amg technology, they've got 4 of those things set up sequentially and it gives them 120hp increase. The 55 designation actually comes from the extra vortex pressure that blows the block up by 1.2liters.

Thanks MarcusF,

Since I got my CLK 320 last month, I love it. So I always check ebay of there is any good stuff I can add to it. I am not the seller or friend of the seller of this item. if someone thinks me in this way... sorry they are wrong.

I drive 35 mile one way to work everyday, and most of them are freeway mileage, and my average spped is around 70-75mph. And I don't use my CLK on weekend. However, I would like to pump gas once a week. Right now it's very close, so if I can do something to increase the gas mileage, that would be great.

The first things I'd look at are tire air pressure (minimum 36 PSI), the quality of the air filter, and age of the spark plugs.

I see, I will check the tire pressure.
Is the K&N air filter really good?

Definately check the air pressure in the tires...I noticed I lost about 3-4 mpg over the past 6 months (I never checked the tire pressure since May). I checked it this past weekend and I was running at about 26psi (wayyyyy to low). I pumped fronts to 35 and rear to 38.....the ride and handling is much better and mpg is back up. The lesson: Check pressure at least once a month.

This must be "tire pressure week" because there's another thread on another forum where people are discussing accurate tire pressure gauges. $20 will buy a real gauge.

At any rate, if someone just wants a daily driver where "close enough is good enough", 36 PSI will be fine. Being somewhat of an enthusiast, I've looked in to how to determined the "correct" tire pressure. I've posted what I think the correct method is a number of times. This will tell you how to do it with a pyrometer.

Thumbs up

Thanks MarcusF, good read and I get everything you wrote.

Will try both methods out since I drive the hell out of meine auto. I can tell already that the stock clk430 is not fast enough.
