I made them myself with Rustoleom high heat silver spray paint. It's about $4.99 at Home Depot. It just takes a few passes back and forth on each "side" to cover the entire bulb.

The bulb is a regular clear light bulb, so therefore it will emit a slightly dirty white (like regular halogen headlights), the picture actually depicts it to be more yellow than it is. So, it blinks quite WHITE throughout the day & night. NO PAINTING NEEDED!!
In the original post by KevinV, he said to use a Sylvania 2721 bulb. This would work, but I opted for the 2723 bulb (2.3 Watt output versus a 2.1 output) which is a little brighter.
Available at PepBoys for $1.99 per pack. $1.79 at AutoZone (but they only have 2721).
All you need to accomplish this job is 3 Packs (6 bulbs). Each mirror housing consists of 6 bulbs as Kevin stated.
You can change all 6 bulbs, but its not necessary. In actuality, changing all 6 bulbs per housing would make it less bright since every 2 bulbs share 1 power source, splitting the output capacity. By simply installing the outer 3 bulbs, it will shut off the other 3, but don't pull them out, else none will work.

Hey All, if I want to just replace a stock bulb that burnt out....
On the w208, the door mirror turn signal bulbs; there are 6 orange bulbs in total in each mirror (3 along the reflector, and 3 in the back). I removed them and it seems the two sets (reflector and back) have ever so slightly different bulb numbers.
- OS 6/2Y w1M and
- OS 6/2Y w1N
I'm pretty sure the OS is "Osram Sylvania" (the brand of bulb)
Does anyone know the difference between these and how to get them?
Or is difference nothing to worry about. I can't find these on the Sylvania website or anywhere...

So there's 6 bulbs ya? What if one were to do a flashback type of deal, where 3 of them are the equivalent to 5000K LED, then the other 3 Amber, have the 3 5000K's on with the parking lights, and 3 Amber to flash with the signal. Hmm, or I was actually thinking right now of doing two stage, Full brightness during the day as DRL's, then half-brightness when I turn the lights on.... Hmm, I'm not down with the usual Copy-cat New Mercedes look, This would be a little unique.... Ideas flowing.

Has led technology advanced since this thread? Do they make 2721 led bulbs that should work in the mirror lights? Looks like there's tons of options for them
