video of my clk...

well i was really bored today so i decided to make this vid. it pretty pointless, lol.but a great way to waste a good set of tires. its a 320 and recently i put in a green filter and custom intake. also removed the intake resonator.in regards to intake setup,i know a lot of people here tell me that its useless cause all it does is get hot air from engine bay. but i think its gettin cool air aswell because of the opening where stock air box was connected to, you can see what im talkn bout in video.in the future,i plan on making a custom housing for it. im still debating on whether to remove exhaust resonator, cause of smog test issues. so most likely im just goin to get a new performance muffler. also want to change the appearance of front bumper. i heard brabus makes lips for it,is that correct??anyone have a pic?

Nice vid. Thanks for sharing. Did you feel any performance loss or gain from the intake? I heard it's pointless but I want the sucking sound an intake makes.

Nice video man... I think all the w208 owners need to make a little video and then someone should put them all together and make a compilation video.
Your car looks like my CLK exactly... Ok fine I don't have those rims

thanks for the kind words. when i put the green air filter intake it might have been just the sound. but when i also took out the intake resonator, it seemed to have a little extra power. but who knows, that might be all psychological, cause it maybe just the sound that makes me think im goin faster, lol. i love the sound tho. and i dont have dyno numbers to prove anything. as far as rims, i got those brand new along with eibach lowering springs. everything installed was about $2400. they are staggered 19's

How'd you manage that burnout? Powerbrake? To what RPM?

I need to do one of these when my new rear tires come in

Its easy. Hold the brake and push the gas until the rear tires start to spin.

Then you need to make more power so you dont need to use the brake

And by your statement I'm sure you've never been to the track because thats how they do burnouts every time.

The only thing you'd have to worry about breaking, is breaking loose

Believe me, it's hella fun.

I stopped worrying about power and using the brake when i traded in my clk. The M doesnt need any help 6-spd makes things a lot easier

I have been to the track, but most of the cars doing burn outs also had manual transmissions. You don't need brakes with a manual, power just turns the tires to smoke faster.

actually u still need to press the brake with manual transmission. i dont know how to do it personally, but ive seen it done-making the car stationary while wheels are spinning. im sure some peeps here know how to do it with a manual tranny. of course its way easier witih automatic. the m3 does have alota nuts, but to do a burn out, u need to spin the wheels while being at a stop.

Actually I'd second that, there is a couple of ways of doing a burn out, which one are we talking now? If were talking about the Burnouts which is dead stop stand still burning up tires, then yes you still need to hit the brakes even with a manual, but doing a Burnout just stand still and peeling out for quite a few feet is another, now I couldn't help but notice you said you stopped worrying about "power" and using the brake when you traded in your CLK, what CLK did you have? the 320 or the 430? As I don't know how the 320 handles or how it does burnouts, the 430 does burnouts without the help of brakes in most cases depending on the surface, but I can tell you I break loose easy without the use of brakes, a little too easy if ya know what I mean.

well judging from his name, its obvious he had a 320. the 320 is whats on the video on 1st post. it doesnt have big nuts like an m3 or 430, but id say it has some nutz, lol. i did press the brake to get the burnout. im sure a 430 or m3 would have a bigger cloud of smoke. i too am convinced my next car is a bmw m3.

Nice run. I love the smokin' tires. Green filters are the best, aren't they?

actually, i've done it and you're wrong. On regular street tires or if they are the least bit worn, turn dsc off and dump the clutch anywhere north of 3k and you will just sit and spin. I did this several times on a set of PS1s. I actually tried to launch it the same way i used to launch my old audi and had problems even getting the thing to more. It might be harder now that i have track tires on the rears, but i have no desire to burn those things up. All it would take is a higher RPM drop.

Oh, and i had a 320. It was a fun car, but im still impressed that you got it to burn out like that, great job! The thing that finally drove me away from MB was the sluggishness of the line, starting from a red light felt like it gathered speed as fast as I wake up in the morning. From a roll it was different, but MB seriously needs to make manuals so it would be more fun from a stop.
