Clk 430 V C43?

Im sorry if this is an old topic dredged up but....

why is a c43 302hp and a clk430 only 276?

is it just a chip?

or more fundamental?

i know what you are saying... but the clk430 will (allegedly) give 300+ bhp with just a chip change..

so will a c43 give 325+ bhp with a chip change - if so how come a 55 only has 354 bhp? or does that get 380+ with a chip?

what did amg do to the c43?

As far as i know, AMG gave the C43 a higher-lift modular camshafts and a freer-flowing intake and exhaust system.

Which provided about 10% more power than our V8.

The CLK55 on the other hand has increased displacement to 5439cc.

this is probably going to sound daft... but why has nobody retro fitted the cams and intake to the clk ?

i know the cams would be more difficult but surely the intake is a bolt on power increase..?

with regard to the exhaust...how different is it? surely not as free flowing as the eisenmann - or is the improvement in the downpipes?
