CLK W208 V8 vs SLK R171 V6
But.... I found these specs on the CLK, model W208 (1998–2002)
http://repository.carsite.com/index....ORY_ID=1595017
From the [Review] section
"... Mercedes asserts that the 320 Coupe goes from 0 to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds. CLK430 models receive a 275-horsepower 4.3-liter V8 engine, which cranks out 295 foot-pounds of twist. This shaves nearly a second off the 320's 0-to-60 time. ..."
Since you have a non-AMG V8, I'm assuming you have the CLK430? If so, then the article would assume that it takes about 5.9 seconds? Another article from Edmunds claims that the time is 6.1 seconds:
http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...rticleId=43956
"Making 275 horsepower, the 4.3-liter V8 jets from zero to 60 mph in a breathless 6.1 seconds. "
And here are the specs on the SLK, model R171 (2005 - present):
http://www.valvoline.com/carcare/art...cid=4&scccid=1
"The only two numbers Mercedes-Benz want you to know about the new V-6-powered model are these: 5.4—that's the roadster's impressive 0-60 time."
So, I could ask him to meet me at MIR to test it out, but what do you guys think?

Can any 430 owners comment on how fast their car climbs compared to this?

anyway, that video was pretty cool... so i guess the 155mph speed limiter is not really a precise speed limiter? The car seem to go towards 160mph without any limitation...
I've gone pretty fast in my SLK but not 150... that would be insane.. maybe at the race track.
SLK350 HP/Weight 268/3295
i believe the SLK350's horsepower to weight ratio is slightly better than the CLK430's, hence the SLK350 should be quicker..... but i think that the CLK430 should be able to pull on the SLK30 on the freeway due to the V8 and increased torque.
just race the guy and see what happens =) let us know.
