Painting Impact Strips

You should buy the side strips in your color from the dealer because sometimes the clips break and you will have a fitment issue after removing them. Buying them new will be just as much as painting them. And have the front and rear bumper strips painted after removing them very carefully. Make sure you tell them to give you no less than 5 coats because they will chip very easily.
Remember you can do what ever you want but this is how I did it because the clips on the side strips are fragile and can not be replaced...once they break that's it. It's your choice but I hope my experiences will help you.

when I removed all the moldings and strips off my 99' clk430, i did NOT have to take off any inside door panels. they just snapped right off w/ clips. I did remember having to open the door and unscrewing one bolt that held on the molding on the inside of the door jam though..... maybe the 320's are different???
The moldings from the dealership come painted already, so if you are willing to pay the extra money and get new ones, you don't have to worry about getting them painted =)
