18x8 AMG Style III test on CLK
The pics are at:

- The test wheel is the front passenger side, without the armor all on it. I took quite a few photos of the stock wheel on the driver side for comparison.
Background info on this project is on this thread:

Another issue I am looking for feedback on is using the 12mm bolts on this wheel which is made for a 14mm bolt. How do you feel about doing that?
Everyone's feedback would be appreciated.

thanks
I am still trying to determine whether it will be okay to use a 12mm bolt in these wheels which have a 14mm hole.

Are you looking for the extra width or just the 18-inch look.
There are some new 18x7.5/18x8.5 Styling III wheels for the W209 CLK and they have the same offsets as the 17-inch versions that came on the W208s. They are available with factory option code 790 in Germany, which includes the wheels with 225/40R18 tires in front and 255/35R18 tires in the rear and a lowered sport suspension.

I have found out that the Style IV (split spoke) is available now in the US, 18x7.5/18x8.5, so that is also an option. Yet another would be of course the multipiece 18x7.5/18x8.5 which would run about the same price as importing the one piece wheels from Europe.
I still have not decided to definitely use the 18x8/18x9 set on my car yet, I think it will be okay, but I know that I will probably want the 18x7.5/18x8.5 set once it comes out.
Pros and cons of using these E spec wheels on my CLK:
Pros: 18", wider track, looks really good, have them now.
Cons: Offset is a bit low on the front, need spacers due to high offset in the rear. May look too aggressive/weird.
So, the saga continues...
Frustrating.
You said the Style IV (split spoke) is available now in the US, 18x7.5/18x8.5. I think they have the correct offset for our cars.
Do you know where. Checked with Tirerack and they don't have it yet.
Cheers
Part numbers for this AMG Styling IV (split spoke, 18x7.5/18x8.5) for the 209/208 CLK are:

Maybe you can call your local MB or wheel dealer and get a better deal.

Pricing was similar that you got quoted for the split spoke, $3.900 for chrome including tires. He didn't have a price for the silver, but it problably would be around $550 each without tires. I bet when the Tirerack and the likes get it, it will be around $350.
How did it go calling Germany. The wheels i really would like is the new Carlsson 1/16, but it will not be imported to US, at least not for a while. Is it difficult to arrange for shipping including custom paperwork.
Cheers
I have the same problem as you. Trying to fit 18" wheels to my CLK (w209). Same issue though, where the front needs to have an offset around 37mm and rear around 30mm. Seems like there are not too many 18" AMG options with that kind of offset.
Frustrating.

AMG Multipiece Styling III, 7.5x18ET37 front/rear and 8.5x18ET34 rear, (these are 18-inch versions of the '02 CLK55 cabrio wheels), currently available as accessories only.
AMG One-piece Styling III, 7.5x18ET37 front/rear and 8.5x18ET30 rear (these are 18-inch versions of the '02 CLK430 wheels), currently available as a factory option on W209 CLKs in Germany.
AMG One-piece Styling IV, 7.5x18ET37 front/rear and 8.5x18ET34 rear, (18-inch version of '02 SLK32/C32 wheels with slight styling changes at the center), currently standard on the W209 CLK55 in Germany. Note there is an 18-inch version with a different width/offset that is standard on the W211 E55.
Like you, I am interested in the 18-inch AMG one-piece Styling IVs.

The dealer who had the Styling III one piece is Mercedes in Sacramento, Von Hausen, phone number 916-924-8000.
They just opened at a new location in El Dorado Hills, same ownership, where I saw the wheels on a new CLK320. I don’t have the phone number to this new location, but the other loaction will surely know. I talked to a guy named Mark, who i think is their person for dealer installed options.
I'll be going to Germany in business soon. Perhaps a can buy my favorite choice Carlsson 1/16 and take them with me on the flight home. Wheels without tires is hopefully not that big. I’m annoyed with Tirerack, the importer of Carlsson into the US, who doesn’t want to carry these wheels.
Cheers
