New guy with a CLK430

So i haven around the German car scene. I have had a Corrado, an E34 535i and had the oppurtunity to drive many other German cars.

So i recently moved to a warmer area and decided to finally buy a Mercedes.

I got this 2000 CLK430 form the dealership on Friday. It is a 1 owner car, and the owner had all the service work done through the daelaership. All the maintaince is up to date and i was able to go over all the records.

This car is loaded, super CLEAN, and a .....ROCKET! I have fallen in love with Mercedes! (I knew i would)

Sorry about the pics.....more on the way!

Thumbs up Wow - nice car!

Congratulations, welcome to the forum, and to the wonderful world of Mercedes-Benz ownership. I like the CLK coupes so much better than the cabriolets, and that 430 is a great engine - 275 HP and plenty of torque!

Thanks everyone.

So how are these cars with higher miles? I would like to keep this car for awhile, and was just wondering if anyone had a high mile beauty?

I had a 1998 E430 before this one whose engine was still going strong at 125,000 if that means anything.

LOL @ 125k miles being high. My Lexus has 250K on it and is just now being broken in.

Congrats on your 430, good looking car.

I've had my 430 for 20K miles now (about 8 months) and have obviously been driving the heck out of it. Aside of electrical gremlins found in all german cars, they are a nice solid ride.

Mercedes was touted as this being one of their worst built cars ever, but I really don't see it. I have nothing but good things to say about my 430. I know the CLK 430 came at a time when Mercedes was skimping on parts and outsourcing cheap materials, which was when they dropped from #1 in customer satisfaction to nearly dead last by 2005 behind almost every manufacturer. Still though, I think they did a hell of a job with the car and from all I have heard they are "HIT or MISS" on whether or not you get a good one. Some go forever and never use a drop of oil, some are a headache from day one.

currently drive the 83 300SD
The CLK 430 Coupe is one of my all time favorite Mercedes. It looks hot, has plenty of go, and sounds good out the tail pipe, ALL STOCK.
Looks like you got a good buy, congrats and best of luck! Yours looks great
