Tint....how dark can you go before the electronic tint of the rear view mirror (more)
becomes too dark and night driving is difficult? In addition, I have a 1999 model, will the tint interfere with the antenna on the rear window? thanks

No idea, but if you're going to get your car tinted, make sure to get your window moldings replaced with mole skin or some other type of soft material. Mercedes put an abrasive molding on which will scratch your tint.

I got mine done for $70 at Vision Tint (714). Most shops don't know about the problem, or how to fix it. I'd at least call them first and ask them for instructions for a local shop if you're not in the SoCal area.

I've got 5% Madico Onyx tint, and I don't have a problem with the electric mirror dimming. I don't recommend tint that dark though, driving at night is a lot more difficult. I just hate being seen

when you say scratch your tint...do you mean literally scratch it off...(more)
or just scrape and make a sound?....because I see a lot of mercedes with tint, and i can't imagine that all of them replaced their mouldings.

Yeah, I got velcro (the soft side) put on the inside of my window mouldings. The shop didn't charge me extra, and it works great. If you get tint and don't line the moulding with something protective, you're definitely going to get scratches.

Was it hard to install. How exactly did you install it. Any info is greatly appriciatted. I just got my windows tinted and havent rolled down windows yet. I dont want to mess them up. too much $ for that
