why to not procrastinate...

So I've been needing to get new tires, but I've just been busy and haven't had time plus I was waiting for my friend to get me a good deal on a set. So I've been driving on really bald tires and one had what I thought was just a small leak. Well it finally blew last night...

The results:

So needless to say, I've learned my lesson on not waiting until the tire goes to replace them. Lesson learned!!!!!

I was in your same position, I had my Nittos for about a year (Yes, 1 full year) and well they lasted a real good time, so it was only a matter of when they'll go "POP" and I was scared shuntless, I was basically rolling on baldies, and they began to look like slicks LOL which was bad, so I got some tires asap, and very happy with them.

Just find a good local tire shop that you know, and get hooked up on some, when I went to a buddy of mine to get a set, I felt like a kid in a candy store he was very nice when we were choosing the right tires at the right price, we narrowed down to Falkens and Kumhos, or Toyos which were 200 bucks more then both the tires!!

Take your time and just look thru, its fun and you'll find the set for you.

It's not that you should stop driving, it's how long you driven on the tires.

Economical tires lasts super long it's ridiculous.

Unfortunately....our cars don't use "Economical" tires, lol.

ya funny thing about the spare...the previous owner was an idiot and didn't buy a fith wheel to go with the rest and just left a stock 17 for the spare with no stock lugnuts for it. The offset of the spare was different from my 19s so the lugnuts didn't fit. Needless to say I wasn't very happy about that, especially considering I had to leave my car in a hooters parking lot overnight because there weren't ANY flatbed trucks available that night. Lucky thing the car was fine and no crack heads tried anything stupid and my insurance paid for the towing.

You're lucky that didn't happen to you on the highway. Think about all the other cars you might have endangered if your car spun out going 60 or faster on the highway. A damaged rim is the least of your worries.

same thing happened to me. i got a flat and proceeded to change it with spare, but the dam lug bolts were not long enough for the spare! i was maybe a mile away from home, so i said i am not paying for a tow at 2am. so i drove the car at about 5mph and it took it home. finally made it after a long ride, lol

that is very true. the exact reason why I didn't even dare driving on the freeway. Especially considering that I've never had a flat before and didn't know how to control it if it did pop going 60 or more.

I would have probably done the same thing only I was about 9 miles away from home, but luckily my insurance covered the tow. Ya I wasn't too happy with the stupid lug bolts!

If you got 19's then you most likely got low pro tires, like 35 series and 30 series tires. When those tires blow, you wont even feel it. I had mine blow on me 3 times, and 2 of the times it was on the freeway i was doin about 80. As far as the lug bolts, the rear would be too short, all I did was take out 2 from the front right and 1 from the front left and put on the rear with 3 bolts, that way I could at least drive the car home slowly on surface streets.

Ya i have 19s and i didn't feel it much when it blew, course i was going only about 15-20 cuz i was making a turn, but even still it wasn't like what I felt before in a friend's car when their tire blew.

If only I could have done what you did with the lug bolts, but the spare that was in the car was a 17 and the offset was different and the bolts were like 1/2 inch too short. oh well though, it still ended up being a free tow through my insurance
