Touch up paint part numbers
Hey all,
I've been trying to find out the part number for the OEM Mercedes Benz touch up paint but I haven't had any luck so far.
The color I'm looking for is 040 Black.
If anyone has a bottle of this touch up paint or any other color touch up paint can you please post up the part numbers for future reference?
Thanks!

www.paintscratch.com is also a good site to find touch up paint.
The only issue I've found is that when you buy the touch up paint from these sites they require you to use a base coat, clearcoat, and primer.
That's the reason why I'm looking for the OEM touch up paint, I believe it's a one-step process so it should be much easier to use.

If you have a scratch down to the metal, you will have to put a primer on even if the paint is OEM. If there is no metal showing, you can use these paints like OEM. The OEM kits from the dealership have a clear coat with them. You can get clear coat at any car parts store.

Found it on google.
I haven't confirmed it yet, the description for that part number shows up as "PAINT PIN" so if anyone actually has a bottle of the stuff can you please confirm that it is indeed 040 black?
Also, I came across some information that says 040 black is not supposed to have a clearcoat. Only the metallic paint codes are clearcoated.

As you can see here:http://eshop.original-teile.de/Listen/allparts140.pdf you will have to guess which the first digit is. A hint is that the final three are those of your color code.
So I'd guess the black 040 requested would be 9040.
A little late now, I know. But for those of you googling this...
