Who has more respect? BMW or MB?
Just curious........Now let me put on my flame re-tardent suite and heat shield. Let the fire begin.

ps. Is it a good idea to drive my car on the 4th gear in the city? I feel a lot more pick-up power or maybe it's just my imagination. However I switched to "D" when it reached 50-60 mph. In the city my speed is always under 50 mph. Thanks guys.

1. As a MB owner I have to stand by what I buy! So BENZ
2. Old people drive MB (I am 23 by the way), so you should respect the elders! So BENZ
3. MB are more expensive and money can buy anything except love! So BENZ
If the same question is posted on a BMW forum, I can almost predict the result......

They both have reputations that they don't deserve, IMO. Both companies need to work on their reliability and get their dealerships under control. They could learn a lot from the Japanese.
I have a benz because they are bad ***....that is all.

IN THE UK MERCEDES ....BMW IS SEEN AS REPS WHO WANNA BE THE BOSS...
neither can touch aston or bentley in status... even if at the high end they end up closer in price...
Jag is rated pretty high as well.. dont forget the xk8/r is the forgotten clk competitor.. dont know what us prices are like but an xkr is as cheap as a clk 55 .... and is substantially quicker.

Not even in the same category as far as I'm concerned. I've had 2 m3's and the worst thing is the interior... a 1985 318i has the same interior as the new e-46 m3. They look pretty similiar. Bmw's have respect for sporting and benz has respect for everything else.
The other day an older guy came up to me commenting on how good of a paint job my car had and that it looked really good for a BMW, then I opened the door and he saw the mercedes V-8 door sill and he just said ooohhhh that's why and walked off. Still don't know why he thought it was a BMW???:p

i would give BMW props in the handling department, and fair luxury at a fair price.
BENZ has lots of power to offer with lots of comfort as well. But the BENZ brand carries a lot more Prestige & Class over any other mass produced Euro

all of my friends, friends, friends, friends, and friends mostly drive BMW. When we all get together with there new friends, friends, friends, friends, and friends they all said it's the best car ever built. However there there friends, friends, etc. asked me what I drive.........I said I a CLK430 Mercedes Benze. There replied was......."wOOOOOOOW you have a Merrrrrrrrcedes Benze!" That goes to say Mercedes are not typical cars. BMW people think they are still the best even though they feel kind of jelious that my car stands out more superior. I just think it's funny that they're girlfriends had that reaction when they asked me.

IMO, it TOTALLY depends upon what type of a person you are.
For me personally luxury, image and comfort are more important than raw horsepower or sportier handling.
Since I live in NY and had my license suspended in my younger days, I no longer crave speed as much as I used to. So a luxury cruiser with a comfortable ride and stellar looks (i.e. w208) best fits my personality.
For me, Benz is KING.

used to have e-30 m3 and 96 328i...considered myself a bimmer lover and hated benz...but things just changed when came to some point in life...now i love and respect both!!!
