you gottal drill the holes yourself by the lighs, and then custom fabricate the brackets that attach to the side of the fenders. just drilling the holes on the side of the of the bumpers where it meets the fenders will not work, they will break because the fiber glass is not strong enough to support the bumper since you have to bend the edges quite a bit to get it to line up with the fenders.

hope that helps.

What...I didnt know it was this complicated!! Are all the fab bumpers like this??

Anyone else with a felix bumper that had to do custom brackets? And if so how much did this cost?

yup all of them are like this, i made all of the braket for cheap with parts from Home Depot, just took some time and planning. see my old tread that I just bumped up for all the new members here that are thinking about doing this. Or you can do what Josh and Ahmad did, cut the bottom half off and mold it to the stock bumper, that way you get it all, OEM fit and attachemets, but the Carlsson RS look....very expensive tho

JOSH and AHMAD if you are reading this how much did you pay for the molding of the 2 bumpers..I think this is the route I would like to take. I just want to know if I am being robbed or not by basing it on how much you did it for.

hey man, dont give up now, the hard part is done, getting the bumper is half the work, just take it to a body shop that works on body kits, and get it installed, let them take care of it and deal with the fitment issues

Youre right...I guess I was too quick to write it off late last night. I am going to take it to a body shop sometime this week and see what they say.

Thanks,
Greg

there you go, thats the spirit, it should take them about 2 weeks depending on how much work they will do on it, for mine, it took 3 days to prep and paint, and i did all the mounting on my own which took another day, so its should not take too long, 2 -3 weeks max

What would be considered a "normal" price for having this type of work done. This way I know if I am getting raped or not when they give me a price!!

it really depends mine was $300 for paint and prep, that included filling in all the surface imperfection and sanding it down and color matching to my silver clk. the rest i did, so pretty much not much fittment or custom work was done on mine....i think a fair price if they did all the fitting, bonding, and fabricate the brackets, would be around 600-800 bucks

George is right on the money. I paid $800 for paint and fitment for the front, $300 for the rear, and $300 for the skirts..

The car has just been dropped off at the body shop for the install!!!!

They are only charging me 405 for the whole thing...they said that they have done these custom body kits multiple times. The car will be ready Monday morning so it will be ready for the DYNO run next Saturday now.

Thanks for all the info and reasurring words..This thing would have been gone and sold.
