HID KIT help please / Fog light projector retrofit

hey guys im fairly new to the forums and i was looking to get some help, i was finally able to find the oem hid's but im planning on upgrading to 6000k or 8000k bulbs. Does anyone happen to have a picture of how these temperatures would look? Im trying to match my headlights with an HID kit im putting into the fogs.

6000k is my ideal temperature but i want my headlights to have a nice crisp white/blue or purple tint.

i was on HIDplanet and stumbled across these mini projectors, and i was wndering if anyone knew if there is a way to retrofit these bad boys into our fogs. i have the AMG bumper so i have the round circular fog shapes. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

heres the link to the mini projectors. only 1.5 inches wide
http://hidplanet.com/halogen.html
the bosch mini projectors, they also use H3 bulbs as well. Thanks guys

Here is a link to my setup with OEM xenons and 6000k bulbs.

https://mbworld.org/forums/clk-class-w208/196599-output-cheese-grater-projectors-vs-oem-xenons.html

Since I've changed out the the projectors, I have my old pair of 6000k Philips bulbs for sale. They have been used for only 1 year and I don't drive that often at night. They are d2r and will be a direct replacement for your OEM bulbs. They are exactly the same as Philips Ultinons.

Here are some pics.

Willing to let them go for USD$100 plus shipping to the US. Don't think it'll be much as the box is not very big. Bought them new for about USD$260.

With regards to the projector retrofit for your fog lights, I plan on doing the same thing. I am an avid reader of hidplanet as well, and also plan on getting the bosch minis and retrofitting them. However, since my car has the same fogs as the CLK320, my fog lights aren't round like yours. At least I've got clear lens fogs purchased locally so the projector beam can be seen clearly. Oh you need a h3c hid kit for the bosch minis, not the usual h3 hid kits.

Have you measured the dimensions of your fog lights? You can compare the measurements with those of the projectors given in hidplanet. Then do the necessary ie. open the foglight and do the retrofit etc. Or you can get one of the retrofitters to do the retrofit for you.

I now have 6000K HID bulbs in my foglights and 6000K Phillips Ultinons in my headlights. I will tell you this, these fogs are really making my headlights look dull!!!

im runnin on the h&r cupkit with e-class #1 spring pads in the front and #1 clk pads in the rear. the cupkits for the 320 but i put it on my 430 for the extra drop since our engine is heavier and the #1 e-class padds are a few mm thinner than the clk ones so i can go a bit lower haha. it would be cool if i could get those shots if it didnt go outta your way. thanks man

sonnyhoang, here you go. it's not exactly head on but I can take more shots if you want. I also have Philips 6000k for my clear lens fogs to match.

Are you going to retrofit those bosch minis? I may put that idea on hold as I really wanna retrofit s2000 projectors into my headlights 1st.

8k comes factory on the some of 209 CLKs and some of the newer Benzos. MB wouldn't be rice if they do that to their lights. But I would personally go with something a little more darker blue colored.

naaa i really doubt that...4300k is best light output so thats why all car companies use around 4300k...@ 8000k, its a bluer light and u lose lumens so i dono but i find it hard to believe that MB would start using 8000k....u sure???

Yes they are, but just the bulbs along with the factory ballasts. It may also be the angle of the camera but I see what you are saying.

You are right they are 4300K, but since they are projectors there is a flash of blue that is seen by oncoming traffic.

Well, mine came w/ 4300k...so you'd think Mercedes up their bulbs since 99, which is why I referred to 8000k, might just be me tho, everybody could be upgrading?

the band of blue is simply the refraction cause by the light bending around
the upper edge of the projector's cutoff shield. it's just a sliver of blue

Exactly!!!

But that refraction is what makes people think that all of the projector lights are putting out a bluer light than they really are... Didn't you make mention once of people trying to increase this area??

yes....some of us are bending the cutoff a scooch...so as to enhance the blue
band from sliver to slim band. some cutoff shields lend to such a conversion,
and some do not, e.g. some bixenons...with their moveable shields.

Ive seen some cars with a pure white with a nice hint of purple but not like a 12k its a clean look with a slight hint. Any idea? Also is it better to use the 55watt compared to the standard 35. I have seen they started selling 55w watt h.i.d. plug and play sets
