First, let me say it's great you're all right after seeing that much damage. Second, maybe I just need to total my car and collect the insurance. Just joking, but I can't believe you got that much for your car. I'm trying to sell my 99 CLK430 for less than $12K and I'm not having much luck.

Anyway, this isn't about my selling woes. This is just another testament to the safety of the cars. Good luck in your next venture and I hope something like this never happens again to you. I know I wouldn't want to go through that.

WOW!!! Holy crap, you are lucky you got out ok. Hope everything works out for you and find something as nice. I do agree with imphaded, a 330i wont turn heads like our cars do. But with whatever you get, good luck!

dam, your lucky you didnt get seriously injured. i agree, a 330 wont turn as many heads. but it will definately perform better and handle better than any clk. bimmers are more for performance and benzes are more for luxury.

Very fortunate you had no injuries! My CLK has been in the shop now for 2 months....11K in damages and they didn't total it out. Wish they would so I could have bargaining room with wifey for a W211 E55. The CLK will hopefully become my "beater" if I can talk her into letting me getting a Viper or 'Vette. :-)

I still dont know the deal with that. I asked them if i could take my rims and sound system out and they told me they will get back to me. when i went in person they told me i can take anything that doesnt require any tools...if i can take it out then sure...

They intend to steal it themselves at the tow yards before the insurance guys get ahold of it. They told my buddy the same thing and laughed at him, then when they followed him out to get his stuff they realized he had velcro'd his sub box and amps to the trunk Turned that smile upside down quick

Then when they realized only a nissan and toyota require metal brackets to mount the head unit (the rest of the cars are plastic and pops right out) they got even more sad THEN when they realized his CAI, filter, and intake polished pipe were on pressure fittings and not screwed clamps........ You get the picture.......

One of those days you wish you'd brought your video camera.....

Yeah, everything from mid engine is strippable and would bring in a tidy sum. I appreciate your reply. The glass on my mirror is all cloudy and when I went to the stealer I found out that I will have to buy the entire assembly for well over $300.

That's very lame man, it's your car you should be able to do whatever the heck you want with it despise it being crashed, but did they towed the car back to their towing company or a yard? You shoulda just towed it back to your place? Those guys will get anything they can get their hands on which is probably why they wont let you get anything that requires a tool.

"IF" you have a garage and don't mind the ensuing mess, paying $2600 and selling it piece by piece may yield the following:

$1500 engine - gone within minutes of listing it on ebag
$1000 transmission - sold 30 seconds after the engine

The rest of the hulk is profit.
