hahaha thats me!
and my car came from cali originally and the person who bought it didn't get the option to put hids or heated seats...i purchased the hids seperately (hey does the big headlight circle and the more inner circle never match in color??),
and i was pissed off i didn't have heated seats. i almost passed on the car but i really wanted black on black and it was the only one available at the time.....
anyone know how much it costs to add heated seats or if its a pain in the ***.

for reals. yea heated seats will probably be a pain in the *** and expensive probably. if you put after market hid's just on the big ones then you will need to put some on the little ones 2 i think or just change the bulb to a matching color one

Haha ok, on the real note, the lights don't match unless you buy a kit for the inner lights, your headlights should either be xenon or HIDs, HIDs being blueish color (big ones) 4300k, the inner lights are just stock bulbs you get from the dealer.
The heated seats part, that really sucks you don't have that option but you should go down to the dealer and ask how much it would cost or what type of work needs to be done to install that option (just to get an idea) and find other places that can do it for you.
and on the last note, why did you move out the San Jose/Bay area? lol

Ha, I bought my car in Cali as well. It is missing the heated seat option too. I was kind of looking forward to nice heated seats when it is so cold out.
W211 Beast: She probably didn't get it from here in Oregon because they are hard to find around here. I got mine from Cali because when I flew down to LA I had 7 to choose from and up here in Oregon you are lucky to find one way over priced 430 every couple of weeks.

every winter i think about the heated seats and i just barely make it through the winter without it. i figure it will be okay cuz i'll have my car longer than i'll live in the cold.... as long as it doesn't break down!

darn, one year earlier and i might have been able to score you heated seats.
getting OEM heated seats would be by chance, ie finding matching color off
a wreck, installing, putting in new plate on the dash which includes switch,
and finally having the dealer version code to activate. roughly guessing that
this would be < $1000.
you also have option to peel off the leather and having someone install after-
market heat panels, then install aftermarket switch. aesthetically less appealing
and not great when you sell.
insofar as the 'city' lights (just above the high beam), the bulb you buy to match
your HID is a bit of a crap shoot. you must first determine the color (eg ēK) and
then attempt to find a bulb with similar hue. because of variations in manuf with
incandescent and LED bulbs, this requires a bit of trial and error. fortunately,
these bulbs are usually inexpensive.
i know what you mean about sunny days here. this was a nice weekend....
and a nice departure from the gray, eh?

Hopefully you took full advantage of these past few days of wonderful sunshine that we had. High 50's-low 60's would be perfect for top down, heater on, and a drive to the beach weather!!! This cold makes me miss California so much and it doesn't help that members at the golf club where I work talk about the desert and the warm weather
