New Yorker heading out to Cali. Any shops I should visit where I could find some toys for my 208? I will be in the newport beach area.

New York doesnt have as much diversity in terms of shops where you could find enthusiast type upgrades.

This is SoCal Baby. More Porsches and Benzes are sold here than anywhere outside of Deutschland. If we don't have it, it must be on loan somewhere else.

Lets see . . . . . Newport Beach? Yeah, you could say we have a shop or two nearby.

Newport is just south of Huntington Beach. Like 15 minutes south. Huntington Beach is home to evosport, HPS, and House of Power. You're also pretty close to the MB Classic Center. Along with several other cars, Sienfeld's V12 powered W210 E is usually at the Classic Center.

BTW, I'm a New Yorker. Queens. Came for a visit and decided I hated snow. There is no winter in SoCal. I literally had the AC on two days ago.

Depending on what you're looking for, i'm pretty sure you can find something from SUPER AUTOBACS, it's a really really huge car enthusiasts store. google them up, you'll see what i mean.

Just went to visit the Classic Center - Wow how far cars have come over the past century plus. Will post pics when I get back to NYC.

A lot of classics. an SLR and a MB racecar which looks like a pagani.

I bought it on ebay within hours of the very first day it was listed. shipping and everything, i paid about $400. but since then, the price changed.

maybe you can be part of a group buy if people are still trying to get some. it'll be way cheaper.

I remember the projector was something like $600-$700 just like 4-6 months ago and now it goes down real bad like $400??? At the time, I told myself I would get one when it come down to $3xx since they sell only $2xx for E class. They always want to ripe CLKs off.

I still don't see why I have to pay more for CLK than E??? You see? I bet you they make some(big) margin even when they sold you $400 and now they try to raise to $450? That additional $50 in margin. I'll wait untill it drops again or never get one

At the end of the hall with the cars stack two high, there is a roll up metal door that leads to where the cars are worked on. Beyond the roll up is a full paint booth, several bays with lifts, and a machine shop area. I took some photos at a press event.

Was the V12 powered W210 there?

I do have pics of the body shop there but nothin that looked like an e class stood out to me - I will post when I get back home. I saw some more classic vehicles in there only
