Smile Should i trade my S500 for a CLK Cabrio???

I love my S-500! However, because the gas prices here in Calif (SF Bay) are outta control ($4.00+ per gallon) and won't be coming down, I want to trade it. As nice as it is, quite frankly-Its a gas hog. I took it to a Honda dealer and almost traded it for an Acord or something. I got in the Accord, and just couldn't do it.

So, now I'm thinking, maybe I can trade it for a CLK (320-6 Cylinder)Convertible or something--that might be just a little less expensive on gas. I know my fellow forum members here will call me crazy-but what do you think? I am interested in doing some sort of EVEN trade. I give them my 500, they give me a convertible CLK...No money involved....Thoughts?

Can you live with a considerably smaller car? The CLKs back seats are mostly for small children, briefcases and luggage that won't fit in the trunk because the top takes up too much space.

You could probably trade for a 2004-2005 209 clk 320.

20+ to list......
I traded in my 07 E550 for my 08 CLK BS.

Back on topic, it all depends on your personal preference, if you have a family with couple kids and you have to haul your family around quite often, the CLK would not be a practical choice. However, if you are single, then it will be fine. I look at a bigger picture when I'm trading in cars to get new ones, while gas price is one of them, it's not a major issue.

I had on '05 Audi A6 (new body style) It was a beautiful car and very spacious. Going from an A6 to a CLK was a big change. I don't regret it , but I do miss the space and the trunk on that car was HUGE!!! If you're gonna go to another car that's a bit better on gas I would recommend the A6.

CLK320 / E500
I hear ya about the gas...

As for the car, all depends as 2MANYCARS mentioned on what your personal needs. As you can see in my sig, not as impressive as 2MANYCARS, but I have the CLK320 (mine) and the E500 (wife). The CLK is a daily driver for me and my wife doesn't drive that much so it isn't that bad.

I didn't fill up at that gas station today, but it still cost me $50 with Premium for 14.5 gallons. You might want to look at a E320 as it gives you the sedan that you might need and the fuel efficiency you might want.

2002 CLK55 AMG cabriolet
Just keep in mind the CLK320 Convertible is the slowest CLK in the model line b/c of the weight per horsepower ratio. These convertibles are heavy(3700lbs for 320 / 3800lbs for 430) so if your getting a cab, I'd suggest getting the 430 at a minimum to pull that weight.

92 Legend to work everyday, but seriously, my legend is not doing a whole lot better something like 22/23 mpg. I guess it's getting old
