It's coming along great!
I am also contemplating changing my headliner to black as everything else inside my car is black. Dont know why they didnt make it that way in the first place???

Looks great Hersh!
CLK FAN & Hersh, if the duplicolor doesn't work out, you may want to try "Surflex colorant". I've used Surflex colorant to restore leather seats and door panels. When finished, they looked new. Surflex is good stuff & doesn't chip or peel. After cleaning the leather or vinyl it goes on with a paint brush and leaves no streaks when dry - just the natural grain. Several colors are available and many places will mix custom colors to match whatever you send in. It can also be used to make custom two-tone seats for under $40. And in case you're wondering, sweat won't cause Surflex to come off.
Hersh,
I talked to my local shop and they told me that that stuff will end up peeling once it gets nicked or after maybe 5 - 6 months.
Be careful of stupid people in your car that don't understand what we do and have no respect...kind of like the people that refuse to not put their finger prints all over the car door or windows after you've done your best to keep it tight.

Color Plus sells it. In addition to mixing custom colors, they have it in a number of factory colors for MB, BMW, Jaguar, Rolls, Porsche, and Lexus.
Car Care Specialties has it, but I think they've stopped carrying factory colors - just black and custom jobs.
An 8 ounce can is plenty. I could do two cars with that much. Many people use Surflex because it won't ruin leather like paint does (if leather doesn't breathe, it goes bad). Here is a sample of a Porsche seat that most people would either throw away, or have recovered. Surflex made it like new and it can be applied with a paint brush, which means parts can be done while in the car.
Factory look, two tone seats can be had in an afternoon.

I do wish that they would have done it black to match the rest of the interior, but thats going to be a project here sometime in the future.

You could always try spraying and see how it turns out and if it doesn't than get it done professionally???
Either way, when your done it'll look very nice.

I would love to see the dashboard in black! I have a circle left on my dash from the former owners GPS. It would be great to be able to refinish the dash if this stuff works as well as it looks. My interior is the same light grey but the car is white. If I were positive SureFlex would not peal off with long term use I would do the interior two tone white and black.

Looks good man! I'm hoping to pick up a silver 01 430 if I can sell my truck. I may look into doing something like this if it holds up for you. I'm always trying to figure out something I can do myself to make my cars different from the rest.
Kenneth - what the hell do you do for a living? How do so many people in Cali have so much money??
