Question WOT kick-down button question

I have a 99 430 with 98K miles and when I hit the gas hard and depress the kick-down button sometimes it revs up to like 5-6K RPM's and takes off like a bat out of hell other times at the same speeds it goes up to about 4K RPM's and still takes off fast and delays up shift but obviously without such jerk as when it hits 5-6K RPM's. I was wondering if my kick-down is faulty or if something else could be going on. It seems like it doesn't downshift when it only goes to 4K but that is is just accelerating with the extra gas but when it goes up to 5-6 it is definitely downshifting

whats the kickdown button? do u mean u perform a kickdown on the gear shift? ....when u do so, u should let go of the gas and then punch it again ...youll probably experience the same results if u do this everytime.... not totally sure tho...n it also depends on what speed ur doin the kickdown at

If you are driving it hard it will adjust to that driving style and the shifts will accomadate the aggressive driving. Drive it like a grandma for a bit and you will definitely notice the lack of downshifting as much.

The kickdown button is under the gas pedal. When you hit the gas hard there is a button that will depress further

Hersh, if you've never hit the button, all I can say is, "you may want to aim that thing before you fire it".
