Hey guys,

My problem is that i just bought a CLK that the window doesnt shift down or up when u open/close the door. I searched and searched, and the only reasonable solution that I found is to Reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery. I was wondering, is there any other solution or guess someone can give me before I go ahead and do this?

Thank you in advance

you mean like a bmw or an infinity, where it goes up and down a little when you open and close the door? if so, the clk doesnt do that.

Absolutely it does. The passenger door currently does that, and you have to slam the driver side door in order for it to close because the window is so high that it doesn't clear the window seal. The CLK is a 2001, btw.

I have an 01 CLK55 and yes it does have this feature.
Out of curiousity, have you tried 'resetting' your windows?

1. windows and sunroof closed.
2. push button to roll window down (first detent only), not to the auto roll down feature.
3. Once window is down, keep holding button for about 5 seconds.
4. repeat for other window.
5. repeat for sunroof opening.
6. 7. 8. repeat for both windows and sunroof in the 'up' position.

I have not heard anyone having the problem you describe, but I hope this helps.

I have a 98, and it doesnt do it by itself.
I can press down on the key for a long time, then it will open the windows just a bit, but you have to get inside the car to get them to close again.

I am curious, did you try the window 'reset' procedure?

BTW Wobert: did you figure out the noise from the rear of your car?

No. It was very strange. I got some very good possible explanations from members here, but never got to test them, because the sound hasn't been there since. It was there allmost every day for atleast a month, then suddenly its just gone, and I havent heard it since.
I was wondering if it could have been something to do with the heat, since it happened midsummer, but the very first day I heard it, was late night, and its not that hot here in the nights, so that would not really fit a pattern.

Mine does. 2001 430.
One time when I closed the drivers door, The window didn't pop up that last 1/4" as usual.
I didn't have a clue. Tried the "lazy lock" i.e, push and hold the lock button on your remote.
Window popped up and the problem never came back.
Rubber side down.
