*If it turns out not to be the fuse*

I had this problem very recently and it turned out to be the bushes in the fan itself. You can remove the uinit for inspection very easily, using these step by step instructions:

http://mbclub.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=3593

If indeed it turns out to be the bushes, I bought these from ebay which did the trick:

If it ends up being the heater fan I have one for sale on the link below. I will drop the price to 30 plus shipping.

it could also be the fan regulator which controls the fan speed.

agreed with some of the guys uptop.

either the blower motor, or the blower voltage regular. i bought a new voltage regulator and it fixed my problem.

My problem ended up being the voltage regulator as well. But, my symptoms were erratic speeds. Sometimes it would speed up on its own or turn off completely after it heated up.

I ended up buying a new fan from Ebay and it still did the same thing. So, I ended up buying the regulator. That fixed the problem perfectly.

I would recommend checking the fuses first and taking the fan off to check for any obstructions first before you buy anything at all. It could be something simple like leaves stuck in the fan. It will only take about 15 minutes to take it off, it is VERY easy to get to from the passenger side.

Its located in the passenger side footwell right under the dash. You will have to take the large plastic cover off and then you will see another plastic cover that has a bulge on it. That cover houses the fan and regulator.

No mate. I removed the fan assembly and took out and cleaned the bushes. Put it all back together and it worked great

Can you please tell us where is the fan regulator?

The regulator is mounted right onto the fan, so you cant get it wrong. It is mounted where the bright metal is on the bottom right hand side image.

And this is the regulator:

Hope this helps!! Oh and the fan/regulator are located in the passenger side dash footwell. If you take the cover of the bottom of the dash you will see the fan cover. There should be a DIY on this forum for this.

Thank you much Gregory13lil!

Of course your info helps a lot.

Yes, I know there is DIY in this forum for this. However, I cannot see the images there, while I see yours perfectly well.

Tks again,
