Pics of wheel spacers installed! But wierd rubbing sound :(

Sorry about the quality its from my camera phone......spacer vs not

No Spacer

No Spacer

So ya looks f'in great, been meaning to do this for a while but cannot understand this wierd rubbing sound im getting. Im getting this clink click sound only once per rotation of tire, so its not a constant rubbing sound. Got under the car looks very clear of everything, does not seem to be anything inside the fender. Maybe the spacer is not seating right with the rotor or with the rim..... any ideas, ATM doesn't make any sense? It was consistant on both side of the car, torqued to 85lb. Irritating such a simple install left me scratching my head for some hours!
One note on top of that seems to have no noise under 5 mph but over that speed clack.. clack.

Check your bolts. If one or more of the bolts securing your spacers are too long, they can interfere with the emergency/parking brake mechanism inside the hubs of your rotors. If you're getting just one click per rotation on one side, it may just be one bolt protruding enough to do it.

yeah, its a bolt hitting the parking brake. you need to stop driving the car and need to get shorter bolts, else you will really mess up the rear brakes and have a fun time repairing that.

Ya i only drove a few feet it was dark and gf was hurrassing me to take her to dinner, so i took it off. But im pretty sure the spacer bolts are shorter, but did not think into account the thickness of the rim and the spacer bolts sit recessed.
I'll have to relook into this when i have time thx guys.

took a look at the spacer bolts. Looks to be a slight knick at the very edge of the bolt.

i drove it about 5-10 feet....click click click....my ebrake pin was bent....price of the pin is like 4-12 bucks.....stealership wanted 600+ to repair...i denied and ordered the part and fixed it myself....its kind of a pain as u have to remove the whole hub....but dont drive around with it....measure ur bolts with ur wheels off.....stick the lug bolt through the hole of the rim and spacer and take a ruler and measure no more then half an inch of the shank sticking out..if there a bit longer just take em to a machine shop to cut em.....6-8 full revolutions of the lugbolt and ur good...

oh yeah...i forgot to mention...if ur not sure if ur parking brake is messed up.....park on a hill....park the car....and apply the ebrake....if u hear a creaking noise....then u might want to take a look at the parking brake....it will most likely be the pin....but thats best case scenerio....btw.....the spacers make it look alot better....which spacers are u using?

So i grinded down the bolts, its installed been driving around a bit. Rubs kinda harsh on the top of the tire (not on the sidewall) with the fender. Love the new look and feel.
Though I may have to back down to 15mm and also roll the fenders a bit. Tires fit kinda square with the rim 8" and 255/35.

Should the rear end feel a bit stiffer due to the new angle your creating or is this all in my head?

What is the offset of your rims? I'm thinking about installing rear spacers.

FYI, fix your camber issues before getting spacers! I've been running my 19's w/ 10mm spacers and it's been great. But then I wore through a set of tires in about 5k miles without having too much fun. Definitely VERY uneven wear because of camber issues. So I finally bought some camber arms and put them on this weekend. Now my tires rub even with 265 30 19's since the camber is *close* to being accurate. Makes a HUGE difference at the top of the tire. The wheels almost stick out now!

Did you get those camber arms by speedybenz? How was the install, do it yourself?
Are you saying you reinstalled without the spacer cause now its dialed in?

Being cheap why i didn't get camber arms yet, considering im on my 3rd set of tires this year, kills me in the long run.

Yeah, I bought speedybnz's. They're pretty awesome and not bad to install. Took a couple hours, but nothing very complicated. Got it aligned today and it rides much better! I get light rubbing w/ the spacers because the camber being correct kicked the top of the tires a little closer to the fender. Def go w/ them if you have tire wear issues and are lowered.

Hello,

I have the same set up as you but stock shocks and springs, when I added the 15mm spacers looked sick but when I go over a big bump it hit the read panel a little. Do you get this rub?

I have 20mm spacers on the rear and it was hitting the inside of of the bumper so I just shaved the inside a little check there the paint would be rubbed of a little and that would be your problem.
