3.07 differential DONE with Speed Shift too!!!!
hi everyone been a long time since i posted, been busy modding
,
finally after several tries and different stock TCUs we got the 3.07 differential to work flawlessly on the V8 430 engine, my friend Ali Saklaoui (automotive engineer, member here has a brabus 3.8s w203 and a c32) made it all happen he got it to work on the engine flawlessly and he also coded the AMG Speed Shift on the TCU. After several researches and overnights Ali worked his magic on the car...
here is how my day started
* woke up on 7:30am
* went to Ali's Shop on 7:45am
* drank coffee small talk until the techs came at 8:10am
* 2 techs worked on the car at 8:15am (swap New ECU + 3.07 Diff from a w210)
* techs finished 9:10am
* test drive with ali (he scared the **** out of me)
* big grin on my face since then![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
the car shifts very fast and this is the first time i feel i am in the right gear always!! 1st gear finishes at 53 km/h instead of 65 km/h and 2nd gear finishes at 102 Km/h instead of 124 km/h the car is blast to drive, its very responsive now and the speed shift is just amazing!!! there is absolutely no lag between gear shifts !!! and the nicest option that it doesn't hang on a gear it shifts up, simply i put it in the first gear press full throttle with esp off the car literally launches into action and shifts up all the way![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
i will try to get decent 0-100km times on a g-tec pro soon

CLK but loves my Fords
NICE, sounds like fun! So this is on a 430 right? whats the stock gear ratio on the 430? Imagine it with like a 355 or 373 ratio, that would be real fun.

3.07 is the highest you should go on a 430. honestly though I think 2.82 is perfect ratio for the 55s, you want longer gearing with extra power & torque, but for 430, makes sense to do a diff upgrade b/c it doesn't have nearly the same amount of torque. Nice Job!

2000 CLK430
I have a question about the differential install. My CLK430 diff is starting to make some noise so I think I need a new one. But, instead of buying another 430 diff that has 2.87 ratio I am thinking about copying you and putting a 320 with a 3.07 instead.
What car model would I have to pull the 320 differntial off from..a CLK 320, E320, S320???
Also, can I just install it without any other mods or do I have to have something reflashed in order to make it work properly? What else would I have to do?
What is the new top speed with the new diff?
Greg

Out Of Control!!
I was told the later model C43 diff will bolt in to a CLK55 and give you the 3.07 gears. You also need to swap TCU's with the C43 and you have to make sure it is EGS52 if you have a tip car. Everything is supposed to be plug and play. The pumpkins from the V6 cars are smaller and inherently weaker than the bigger v8 ones
