For those with HID fogs...

So i just bought a set of H3 3000k 55W's for my front fogs. Who has installed aftermarket HID's in their AMG fogs?

Anything weird about the install? I was thinking the connector for the H3 bulb might have to be soldered, but cant remember.

Also, bulb warnings or errors?

Actually...i think the look will be mediocre, maybe good. Mostly, I want the improved vision from the 3000k, esp for the rain and fog. In north GA, we get some of that weather. Also, I think w/ 6000k headlights and 3000k fogs, visibility should be pretty awesome.

I have 6000K fogs and they were just plug and play with an HID kit from ebay. I really like them! Although I had to change my headlights to 8000K so the colors would match, and that's probably because I don't have projectors. Make sure to mount the ballast as high up in the bumper as you can, I've had two fail on me from not doing this.

Sorry for the delay... No issues at all with mounting the bulbs. They were a direct fit for the housings.

U might get some serious kills w/ a nice supercharger setup. sounds like that hps isn't so bad for a 430....esp for the $$

u have any ideas for tuning?

I've heard HID fogs are pointless for fog and rain. They reflect like high beams.

I think that is when you are using them without the low beams.

I would probably go with an off-the-shelf Kleemann tune.

whatever you do , buy a kit with digital ballasts, otherwise you will get a ERROR message about your bulbs.

Digital ballasts, cancel out this error message.
