okay so, its my first stereo upgrade if you guys want to think like that. haha but what do you guys think about this? im not trying to spend like 900 pluss on subs and amps... but my eyes caught on the price and the performance of it. oh by the way i will be just getting 1 subs not two. so it will mark it down to like 210 ish

Honestly....I would pass that deal up and buy one Kicker L7 and build a box to specs for it. DO NOT JUST BUY A PRE-FABBED BOX to throw it into. There is a science to getting the right sound and you have to tweak it to get it right. The L7 can give you the best of both worlds that we used to call (SQPL) SQ= Sound Quality SPL= Sound Pressure Level

You will have to have 2 boxes made for whatever it is you are seeking but I think you are looing for more Sound Quality Bass that leans a little more to the BOOM side. Build a box close to 2 cubes ported (check the kicker site for specs) and you will have the sound to be proud of out of 1 L7! You will have to have some REAL power to push that sub...(Zapco amp, JL Audio amp) and NOT ROCKWOOD, POWER ACOUSTIC, or any of that other junk they try and pawn off on people.

I would call kicker and talk with him about what you are seeking and he can recommend a box that will work perfectly with our W208 acoustics!

I AM NOT A KICKER REP...LOL...I used to compete in DB DRAG (SPL Competitions) so I have some experience in this area.

I've always used the Bazooka Bass tube and the sound quality is fantastic, but to each his own. Enjoy the music........

On a side note, a buddy also had just one 10" L7 in his mustang and it hit plenty hard.

Totally agree. I had a friend who built a custom box for two 12" L7s in his Honda Odyssey. It was a rectangular box and was ported from end to end in a rectangular shape like an open strip from end to end. It was so powerful that it could control your pulse. His one 12" Solo-Baric L7 made my older circular Solo-Baric 15" sound like ****. I had a custom system running an Alpine Deck, MB Quart Qs, with a Sound Stream 644 Series amp in my 1994 Mitsubishi Gallant. Those MB Quarts made music sound like you were live in concert. If you read the data on the L7s they say the speakers are designed to equal the sound output of a larger speaker. I have to agree with that statement, one 12" L7 sounds just as good or even better than most 15" on the market, with that said and when talking about space requirements just imagine 2 12" L7s.

FYI: If you are looking for the Best Home Subwoofer for movie entertainment then check out SVS PC12-PLUS down firing cylinder sub. The Incredible Hulk on BlueRay was Fnnnn amazing, gave me goose bumps or in Japan they say Chicken Skin. lol

Go with Kicker

You are going to need a pair of subs that RMS at a true 1000w. I have a pair of Kicker L5s with a kicker 750.1 amp that RMS at 940w. Kicker always over powers their amps. They are pushed with a Pioneer D-3 and the subs are control via the touch screen so when I have my son in the car I can turn them off. Honestly the subs sound louder in my friends Malibu for some reason, he has the same set up. So I think it has to do with the sound quality of Mercedes. So going with a light sub might not sound that well in your car.

kenwood makes good mids and highs

Kenwood makes good mids and highs but not to fond of the subs. If you want quality get JL. Its not cheap but worth the money, also what ever you spend on your subs pay twice as much for a amp. Its better to get cheaper subs and a kickass amp and run continuous power to your sub and it will sound pretty good vs getting decent subs with a cheap amp. People always make this mistake. Also find out what type of box will sound better with your subs ex ported, vented, sealed. It makes a big difference. I got two JL w7s running 2000 watts continuous and they bang like **** stars i love it!

i would not spend any kind of money on that kenwood setup bro.
i'd rather buy an old school punch 60 with a jl 10w6 in a small sealed enclousure. Gregory's got a nice setup too. sas tubes hit nice and low and that self amplified and strap on is a breez. I run 2 12's in a ported tube in my cab with spare tire still in.

I know a few places around where I live but I would buy all my parts online then have a shop install it. That would be the cheapest solution seeing that electronics are 3 times the price than it is back in the US.

Williams, Not that I am a sound pro, I don't think you will get 2 solos in your cabrio. I haven't started working on my setup for the clk yet, but i have a single 12L7 in my bmw cabrio although the benz has more trunk space. By the way, the LED Taillights came in yesterday, I am going to put them on tomorrow, thanks for the hookup.

I have a Coupe. Also when I get around to the stereo it will be a custom one so the trunk will be stripped. I also more than likely will do a digital amp which will most definitely save on space. I'm not into the box thing.

My baseline idea is to use:

Alpine 2Din Deck
Alpine Digital Amps
12L7 x2
MBquarts Speakers
Capacitor
Optima Dry cell battery

It's all good, I made the call for you because I was worried that there was some lost in translation issues. O'girl is the only one there that speaks English but at the same time she is few months pregnant, and no not mine.
Hope you like the LED Tail lights
