HELP!! Trunk lid wont open

I just bought a 99 clk430, drove it home from tennessee (i live in NC), got home, got some stuff out of the trunk, went back the next morning to put something in and the trunk lid wont open. I have currently: Checked the fuses under the hood, tried the manual key in the lock (wont turn), and the trunk release on the key and in the car wont work. I have tried wiggling the trunk while moving key/trunk releases, and nothing happens. I think I might have shut a plastic bag in the trunk, but im in a real PICKLE. Iv read the that you can fold the rear arm rest in the center down and punch that in, does this work? ohh and also the rear seat fold locks are in the trunk so cant fold those down either, SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP!

I have been told that the keys to open the rear trunk might need some WD-40 if it hasnt been used in years. I have never opened mine up with the key and it wont turn either. I would try a shot of WD-40 or that powder stuff that is supposed to fix the frozen locks. Give this a try before you end up breaking the key.

Oh yeah....please try the manual key in the door to make sure that the key is the proper match and actually works on the locks. If it works on the door then it should work on the trunk as long as the previous owner didnt replace the trunk.

ok so iv tried wd-40 and a little bit of PB blaster, nothing! Now here is the thing, the key would go into trunk lock before but it wont turn in the lock. And the key will turn in the glove box, locks and unlocks, but the doors dont have keyed locks. Im thinking about cutting through the first aid box in the back glass but I really dont want too. Thanks for the suggestions so far!

I got the bumper about 2 years ago from a guy that bought it from FELIX. Do a search for him and you will see group buys where people have bought from him. Some people had issues with proper bumper fitment but I was lucky enough to have almost perfect fitment.

Now if I can get rid of all the steep inclines in the road I will be good to go!! Sorry I couldnt help with the issue. And thanks for the compliment..she needs rims now BUT all in due time!!

Ok i noticed that when you flip the back seat arm rest down, there is a single phillips head screw towards the top on the passengar seat, does anyone know what this is for? Also does anyone also know how to get the the back seat out? in my 95' 280 its really easy! thanks for any help

You may want to keep trying the key. It probably hasn't been used since your car was assembled and that's why it's being stubborn. On mine, I put the key in, turn it a quarter turn counterclockwise (it should be about 4 o'clock), and press in. I recommend that you don't use pliers to help grip the key. People have broken their keys that way.

Great news, I just got into the trunk using the key. I guess letting the wd-40 set a few days loosened up some of the gunk, plus I turned the key a little bit harder this time. And here is a pic of the firery red head that has been giving me so much trouble

I knew WD-40 had to do the trick!!!!

Now I have to apply some WD-40 to mine now just in case it happens to me later as well.

NICE RIDE by the way!
