Do you think there is any chance the charge piping's size and plumbing are causing the lack of pressure? Maybe the turbo is fine and it's just losing all the boost making its way back up to the motor..?
Best of luck man. I've been really pumped for this project based what that SL500 made.

HEY HEY! Nice to hear from you man! I think everyone, including myself have been eagerly awaiting an update. God knows I check this thread everytime I log on.
Now, I know you know I'm not busting your *****, buddy. I give you much respect for doing this, it just really doesn't happen over night. When I was building my engine and turboing my old Honda Civic Si, I bet it was 2 months or so before I got everything dialed in and working perfectly.
As far as your turbo, what kind of turbo is it? It's not one of those Ebay units is it?

Hmm...that MasterPower name makes me think it's a Chinese turbo. Did you get it off ebay as a kit or just the snail?
That Garrett 60-1 might be OK, but it also might me a little small.
IF I were to do this to my car, I would just run a T3/T4 Garrett, Precision or even a Borgwarner turbo. Ball-bearing ones are always going to spool faster, too; more expensive though. You'd get great power throughout the entire power band with the T3/T4. Then I think about it...you may die off around 5.5 or 6K. Not too sure, I've never seen a compressor map of at T3/T4 on a 4.3 V8...It just depends on how you want you want the turbo to respond for daily driving.
It will get there, man!

Wow nice job.
By the way I be willing to have a nice comparrison run your CLK430T vs my C43 5.5L once you get the turbo issue sorted out.
Leave Ahmad out of it he's to big of a Dog for you to play with.
I wanna see how my project C55 will run against the MAx hughes rear turbo project.
I'm all for dropping 5.4L motors into CLK430's but I'd love to do a comparrison when you r able.
Take care. Your car looks great as well.

2002 clk 430
I just came back from from kelowna bc a city that is about 400km away from vancouver bc where I live, so I did 800km there and back on the highway doing 180km most the time, when I came back washed my car I noticed at least a 100 little nicks all together in all the spots u covered. Its all good though doesnt look bad unless u got your face right up to the car. How fast are you gonna be doing looks ur gonna be going crazy fast?
