need help in configuring 19s for a 00 CLK430
hey guys,
newbie here and I need some help in getting some specs for upgrading rims on a CLK430.
I'm gonna go with some 19s, but I can't get info on offest and bolt pattern.
What's the most popular setup when upgrading to 19s? 19 * 8.5 or 19 * 9/10. I am open to both a staggered setup or one that is unifrom throughout. I want to go as wide as possible in the rear, but my rim choices may limite that to a 19 x 8.5 wheel though.
I plan on dropping the car, but only around an inch, to close out the wheel gap if I find it too big.
So, what offest does the rim need to be?
Also, if I go with a 19 x 8.5, what's the largest tire size I can get for front and back?
thanks for the help guys....

Congrats on your decision to get a CLK. It a wise choice.
Anyways, for 19s, you can get 19x8.5 Front and 19x9.5 rears. You are looking at an offset of about +35mm for proper fitment. Higher offsets will fit but you will need spacers to make it work.
If you are choosing 19x8.5 all around, use 235/35s. If you go with a staggered set, use 235/35 Fronts, 265/30 Rears.
So, offset is +35mm, and the bolt pattern you are looking for is 5x112.

thanx man..appreciate it.....
hardly do I get all my answer in one post.
well, i don't have the CLK yet, but I am 99.9% sure I'll be getting one...while my dealer here is asking too much for their used ones, I'll end up going out of state for one.
So far, it hasnt been too hard looking for a low mileage 00 black CLK430.

Visually 3 MM is not gioing to be noticeable very much at all, but it may make the difference between rubbing the strut or upper control arm in the front.
I had 19 X 8.5 and 19 X 9.5 Brabus style moven replicas, with Et 37 with no rubbing issue and I was pushing a 245/35 and 275/30 but my clk was not lowered so I cant provide feedback on if it would rub the fenders or not.

From this post, I'm assuming if I have the same size of wheels and same brand with ET35 F & ET38 R, it'll fit any W208 with no problems if not lowered?! What about if it's lowered if H&R springs?
